Thanks buddy! Based on your recommendation, I will probably order the red bulbs. If I don't like them, I guess they're very easy to switch back. I love those simple mods!

Does anyone know if to replace the side markers you have to do the mod discussed in this forum. or can you use the switch back bulbs from http://autolumination.com/7443_7440.htm the
120 High Powered Wide Angle SMT LEDS. or could use the
7443 OR 7440 15 leds
INTRODUCING
THE WEDGE MATRIX LED BULB
7440 single curcuit bulb? Would i just be able to plug in either one of these without the mod?

Any advise would really be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Can the Fog lights be upgraded to the white light without any wire modification? Such as is discussed with the 6000K HID post in this forum. I did not see if there was a need to upgrade wiring like when the reverse light is changed.

I will be installing my switchbacks this weekend (hopefully), and I am seeing alot of different things here as to how many load resistors I will need to make the switchbacks blink correctly.

I have 2x - 30 Led SMT Tower Style 7443 plastic wedge base
and 2x (one per each side) - 6 Ohm deluxe aluminum, 50 watt LED Load Equalizer.

Do I only need 1 6 Ohm deluxe aluminum, 50 watt LED Load Equalizer per side?

Thanks!

Do you have cleared reflectors in your headlights? I didn't see ANY amber color when the switchbacks were set to "run" vs "flash".

to answer your question, from what it seems in the video the OP deleted his amber diffuser, that's why you see no amber when its on.

to be able to properly run switchbacks to show the white color you need

1. clear usr style diffusers
2. type-s diffuser
3. delete oem amber diffuser

if you try to run switchbacks when you still have the full amber diffuser, you will end up with yellow parking lights while on the ON mode. but when engage the turn signal it will still look amber because of the amber led + amber diffuser.

white led (parking light mode, not turn signal mode) + amber diffuser = yellowish light.

That's what I thought. I have a Type-S and can see the turn signal bulb not completely covered by the partial amber diffusers. Don't know how it would look with those amber diffusers in there w/ white running lights.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LIjMwHeKKY

that is with amber diffuser and white running lights

last 10 seconds of the video really shows you how yellow it looks compared to the correct amber color.

Thanks for the video. It's almost impossible to see the white color with the diffusers. Damn. I already ordered mine.

lol "almost" impossible to see the white? more like you cant even tell its a white bulb behind the diffuser at all. you would have guessed it was a yellow bulb.

it looks pretty cool though. its really bright yellow and really stands out compared to everyone elses amber / orange corner lights.

also when you hit the lock or the unlock button your corner lights flash yellow. looks pretty cool to me lol. i had my switchbacks in with amber diffuser for about a month than i got clear diffusers installed.

Honestly I was dying to get switchbacks for a very long time, and now I finally got the clear diffusers installed i'm kind of let down... The switchbacks look very bluish-white. 6000k white.

it looks good when your parking lights are on by itself, but as soon as you turn on your headlights your corner lights look very blue in contrast....

my last picture makes the switchback bulb and headlights look like they are matching just A LITTLE bit.... but really in person the corner light looks whitish blue compared to the head light. like you see in the 2nd picture

Sorry to hear about the blue color. Yeah, in the one picture, it looks like a perfect match. How did you remove the amber diffusers? Did you have to melt your headlight seals and seperate the lense from the housing? I did that on my last TL but not sure if I'm interested in doing that to my 3rd gen.

Have LED's in the rears as of last week and work great. Put my new VLEDs Switchbacks in the fronts and everything seemed to work great only when I turn on, say...the left blinker, it flashes orange AND the right flashes white! What the hell???

Scotty, that has happened to me many times. You have a bad switchback bulb. Send it back to VLED's and either get them to give you back your money or replace the bulbs.

I'm glad it's not me, or the car. So, how do I know which bulb is bad? Are they both bad as I have the same problem on both sides of the car.

Just in case I took a video. Here is what it's doing after about 5 mins of the LEDs being on.

Talked to Bill and VLED's, told him what was happening. He said, "that's weird". He then proceeded to tell me how the relay works and how it was a system error and couldn't be the bulbs. He DID say they would take them back, however. What to do?
