I'm bumping an old thread here because I just received mine today.
For those that have purchased these before, did you sand/prep the fiberglass lip yourself or did you put full trust in a body shop to prep it before paint? Marcus' intructions even state to re-sand and apply primer as necessary. I've only had body work done once and this is kind of a foreign concept to me, so I'm willing to learn. I need to find a reputable place that I can trust to color match my Nighthawk Black Pearl paint. I'm getting nervous just thinking about it.
*My trunk lid developed a small rust bubble a few years ago near the lower edge and I'm going to be replacing the entire trunk lid with a new one that will be repainted at the same time.
