Which 35% tint looks best with on WDP/Ebony?

I am probably going to go with a legal 35% but since my installer can get any film, need help choosing what would look the best on my WDP/Ebony. There are so many pics of WDP cars on here I would spend the next two months just looking at stuff.

Please post your opinions and pics of the ride with the film...thanks

Is there any laws/rules in MD on the kind of tint(darkness) you can use... if I were you, go dark... it makes the car look better... you can see the difference b/w 35% and 20% in my thread

Plus.... if you do get pulled over (let's hope it'll never happen ), just roll down all your windows all the way and keep all your hands on the steering wheel.... I don't think anyone will give you a hard time.... good thing our windows roll down all the way....

I want to go like 20% but Baltimore County cops now very aggressive, I dont really want to take chances. Here, 35% is the limit, means it has to be what, a 40% film applied over factory tinted windows to be at the limit.

I'd like to see a 35% WDP but with different films...looking into platinum-like, reflective, mirror-like, and just plain black, not sure what would look better.

In 35% get a non-metallic film. It's gives a more smokey color than metallic and looks real nice on WDP. Also due to the lack of metal in the film it will appear darker (but meter correctly - less reflectivity.)

I have rolls of Solorguard, 3M, and Formula1 and when comparing this set the only major difference is seen in the metallic vs the ceramic/carbon.

Sounds like Kostyan already has his installer lined up, but if anyone wants to get their TL's tinted. Check out my group rates for both metallic and non-metallic

thanks for advice, I would have gladly taken my car to your shop but Rockville is too far from Baltimore County or Columbia MD.

My WDP has ebony interior so I would be more concerned of the film's ability to keep the interior cool rather then appearance, and I thought that metallic film does it better, while still looking nice.

You're right but, it mostly depends on the %. All films offer the same exact UV protection of around 98 to 99% but heat rejection is slightly better on metallic.

BUT I've had various types of films installed (my car is one of our test cars for new products) from 35% to 20% in both metallic and ceramic/carbon varieties and I can tell you there is a world of difference on a hot summer day between the 35% and 20%.

If we're comparing metallic to ceramic/carbon in the same 35%, I can't honestly say I feel a noticible difference.

Just FYI. According to the link below, in MD, you cannot legally have a reflective tint.

http://www.lightningmikes.com/images/state-laws.pdf

Most "35%" films actually measure ~38% so when on factory glass, the net will be ~32% to ~35%.

Here (NC) the legal limit is 35%, but will pass inspection to 32% - I assume that allows for variation in manufacturing, factory tint, etc.

I got Madico Metallic and they are good - Nice look, NO Navi or Radio problems and a noticable improvement in heat reduction. However, if I did it again, I would seriously consider Pinnacle F1 Ceramic, even though I'd have to drive 90 minutes to get them.

I just got a quote for $350 to tint all windows on my '07 TL... The owner originally quoted $425 then said he could take off $75. Is the a good price for Pinnacle F1 Ceramic tint? I never had to pay that much for tint but then again, I guess I never had high quality tint.

The short answer is yes - thats a normal price for F1 Ceramic. But keep in mind that you're paying for the mark up on that brand. Llumar which is the parent company for F1 sells the same exact film under their name for less.

Consider also the $75 dollar discount. A drop that large gives a good indication of the markup.

If you're looking to save some cash check for a shop that carries the Llumar line of ceramic films and get that. It's the same film, different box, different stamp.
