2007 OEM vs Artic White Fogs

Here's a couple pictures showing the difference between the stock yellowish OEM fogs and Nokya Artic 7000K White lamps on a 2007 TL
I took the picture from a low angle so the headlights did not over-power the picture
These pictures were taken in an open garage while it was still light outside.

This one shows 1 OEM (yellowish) lamp and one Artic white lamp

This picture is after both lamps were changed to Nokya 7000K Artic White

These were taken after dark. Car was on an inclined driveway

Man, those look kinda bright...gotta go have the wife follow me in the TL and see how it looks

Looks good. Nice pics - good idea on the low angle to show the difference.

Got the same setup. Passed my wife head-on a couple weeks ago (after dark) and man the front end output IS bright.

From a ways off (say 1/4 mile), it all blends together like it's just 2 big bright headlights.

sooooo true, but i've had luck in the past. One brand, it was german writing in an orange packaging, it lasted the entire time i had my 02 explorer. about...20 months, which is really long IMO

anyways, to the OP.. is it a good color match? i currently put 4200k bulbs in my fogs, and they match at all. they look blue-er then the OEM's..

The part number is NOK7223 and the description is 7000K NOKYA ARTIC WHITE PRO HAOGEN STAGE II
Quote from NOYKA website:
"These bulbs are not DOT approved. They are sold for show car or off-road use only. Check local laws before using."
I guess there is some risk from using these.

They can be found a lot of places..Google the part number and you will see all kinds of price ranges.

Checked em out last night on a really dark road.....not blinding at all to either cars coming at you or cars in front of you.
They are a good color match to the headlight HID's

I've seen that warning on a lot of bulbs that pull extra wattage. Are you sure yours are pulling the stock amount of wattage (not over-drawing)? You don't want your bulbs or harness or housing to melt.

I don't believe the warning about not being "DOT approved" is related to wattage and possible harness melting; I think it is in reference to whether or not it is legal in some states to change the color or brightness of the lamps.

Note that just because they are not "DOT approved" does not mean they are 100% illegal, but may mean they are waiting approval. You should check with your local law enforcement if you are concerned.

The Kelvin number (in my case 7000K) has nothing to do with brightness, only the color that is produced.

Here is a chart showing different Kelvin numbers and the colors they produce

The rating of the stock fog lamp is 12v and 35 watts.
The Nokya 7000K are rated at 12v and 35/55 watts.
After spending some time researching why there is a split number for the wattage (35/55), I found an explaination that it draws 35 watts like the stock bulb, but has an output brightness equal to what a 55 watt lamp would be.

So it appears running these replacement lamps will not alter the amount of current running through the electrical harness at all

If anyone has a different understanding of the split 35/55 wattage rating for the lamps, please let us know as there is not a lot of information available on this topic

The thing on the split wattage (35/55) is what I *guessed* it meant when I bought mine.

I've been running them for about 2 months with no trouble - no apparent damage to the housing or lens, no blown fuses, etc.

I haven't seen anybody post anything on these forums to indicate they (Nokya H8 Arctic White or Hyper Yellow 35/55) are a problem and there are quite a few people using them.

Many Threads on them:
