07-08 TL-S headlight retrofit angel eyes halos 04-06 swap

This is more of a thread to inform 04-06 owners what the 07-08 headlight swap entails. What I have on are 07-08 headlights on a 2005 TL with 4 halos and switchback leds and 6000K Kaixen HIDs, retaining the clear lens while painting the amber corner black, just as ua6spec did, as shown below although the lighting sucks. Im glad i did this because you can see the amber in the bright sunlight and the light cutoff behind the lens is so crisp. It also keep the oem look.

Housing already comes smoked so no painting was done, except on the tiny amber part.

problems me and rockyfeller ran into:
1. different ballast size
2. 9005 fog light bulb for 07-08 as opposed to 9006 foglight bulbs for 04-06
3. 1157 turn signal bulb instead of 7443, this is trouble some because even if you get an 1157 bulb, the socket will have a problem, housing the bulb properly but the part that connects with the wire from the car won't fit. I currently don't have foglights running although I have 9005 bulbs in there just to keep the fogging away. I will be getting lower grill fogs so I will wire fogs there.

Other than that it's plug and play.

If anyone wants my old 05 headlights with 2 angel eyes, check out my thread:
https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/sold-fs-04-06-tl-blacked-soldered-headlights-w-angel-eyes-388713/

Oh yeah, and one angel eye per headlight just wouldn't do it for me.

with 6000K headlights on:

Wow....that looks amazingly nice....I wanted to do something like that on my TL but since mine is RRP...I'm not sure it will look too nice.

funny that you mention.. say hypothetically i have a statistical model where the y is GPA and the variables are time studied, classes went to, time at the library, and then an acurazine time spent variable. without acurazine i'd say my gpa would go from a 3.4 to a 3.6 LOL

They reflect GREAT because I kept the TL-S stock reflector there. In the sunlight, the bulb is NOT exposed because of the reflector. It houses the light very well and it is bright white/amber when turning.

Makes the car look more stock too but with mods

hm.. imho it was difficult to see the bulb but if the oncoming driver knows where to look, he/she can still see it. It's not completely invisible. These leds are huge and really bright so 1-10, 10 being most visible, i'd say 5
