In general, yes. You will want to cover the edges (at least) as much as possible. A few members have complained that their spoiler was lifting up after a while.
I would study this thread: I have installed a type-S spoiler on my 05 TL. Crook gives you a lot of good pointers (with pictures) towards the middle of that thread. Good luck!
