'05 TL Silver, Chrome, and Blue

Just took a few pics today at work. They make me realize I really need to do something about the rims. Anyways it is a start. Got the car used last year and been making some cheep changes that I think are coming together nicely.

Next in the plans is a blue floor board light setup and then changing the engine cover to blue much like Meko has.

I like what you have done so far but I wouldnt get too carried away. a car that has everything spray painted a def color looks kinda cheezy to me. but i guess if u like it then go for it, its your car.

The G2 paint is what I used to paint the brake calipers. I actually have enough of it left that I can use it to also paint the engine cover, so they should match and not be different colors.

Not a huge fan, sorry. Save your pennies and get something worth putting on the car like a front lip

Not bad, I like the lighting, not a huge fan of the blue calipers. A-Spec kit and new wheels would spruce it up nicely too.

Those chrome vent inserts are definitely not my taste. Too much blue lighting changes the car from classy to juvenile. Accent blue lighting is nice but having a blue bulb on the doors, interior front and rear seats, and soon led floor board strips is just too excessive..

Nothing wrong with blue calipers, CC. If you like them, it doesn't matter what anyone else says.

Just keep going.

Did you just get new tips or did you go Stage I/II/III exhaust also? Not a huge fan of those tips, but if you did other exhaust mods I could see why you would want to change it.

Just tips. Someone bumped the rear and bent one of the old tips. Plus they were close to impossible to clean. New tips got rid of the bent one and made it easy to clean. I like this style tip.

Chris....I would go easy on the mods....1 big mod (like aspec kit or suspension) is better than 20 small mods....

Save up your pennies and get a aspec kit....then a drop.....then rims....

in the mean time, see if someone local can help you with mod-ing the headlights or tail lights.....

this way the car will stand out a lot more

Honestly I am very different than most the people here. I keep cars for the long haul. My last car I had for 14 years and put over 300K on it. I would never drop a car or do something like an aspect kit that makes me have to cut the cars actual body. I would do mods for look that I can esaily change back and forth and they would do a ton of things for better milage. Currently my car easily goes between 350-420 miles on a full tank. Standing out is fine but I honeslty more do things I like and I figure there is maybe a few crazy people who like my style. ABout the only things left I have on my list are Angel Eyes, Hids, Fog Lights, Floor board lights when driving, Rims.

you know the aspec kit is an OEM add on part right? you dont have to cut anything on the car...and it'll look 100x better.

there is a reason that nearly everyone on this forum has one.

^^^ WOW....you dont have to cut anything for an aspec kit....neither do you have to do anything to install suspension...

I think you are forgetting that this is the 3rd gen forum....a lot of owners have a 2004 which is now 9 years old

I myself have a 2005 which has 175K miles on her....

about gas mileage, even after being fully bolted on, I get more than 500 miles /tank all highway driving and 425-450miles/tank mixed driving....

finally, the mods you have listed (Angel Eyes) you will have to OPEN the headlight....the car already has HID's....am guessing by floor board lights you mean the foot well lights, those are pretty simple to do and you dont have to mess with anything....and I will honestly suggest you to not buy rims if you dont plan on dropping

Guess I need a 2nd look at the aspect kit. The DYI installes I had seen looked liek they had to cut the back end to fit the bumper on propelry. I quit concidering it at that point.

Suspension I will not mess with as it feels great to me already. I am not much of a fan for the lowered "or raised for tha matter" look on a car. Ground effects maybe but actually lowering a car I do not see myself doing.

Yeah I have seen how installing the angels would require modding the lights, which is one of the reasons I do not have them yet.

If I were you I would cut back on all the little things like everyone else said and do an A-Spec kit. They are OEM and you dont need to cut anything up. It makes the car look 10x more aggressive and sets you apart for most TLs. I rarely see TL's with kits. All the little mods make it look over done fast.

Overdone is fine to a degree, as long as I don't end up with the transformer or that Orange thing, lol.

You probably meant conversion of type S rear onto base rear bumper. But if you get the correct parts at most you will do are drill couple holes. Even that is easy.

I will look back into it. I just had seen someone cutting something in a DYI about it and right there stopped and went, not doing that one.

If someone mentioned cutting it they were probably modifying the bumper to fit the TypeS a-spec kit on a base model. Not necessary for the base model a-spec kit which is what you would need.
