05 AM with 19" Volk Racing GT-V
After weeks of deep thoughts, I'm not selling the car anymore. Since I sold the Tein Basic a while back, I bought Koni Sport and paired them with Eibach Prokit. I lowered the front spring perches, so the car sits a little lower in the front.
Finally my Volk Racing GT-V arrived from Japan last week. I took some night time pics, so the quality isn't really great.

Thanks guys....
The wheels are 19x8.5 with 35 offset front and rear. They are the high pad face and they clear the brake calipers very well. There's about 1/2" between the spokes and the caliper. The tires are Dunlop Direzza DZ-101 245/35 R19.
I'm going to post more with daytime pics.

Car looks sick! glad to see your happy with everything now. Where's another place i can buy the koni's so the warrenty would be valid? they told me not to buy from ebay. and do you have the contact info for h&r? some dude said he has the springs on his TL but i can't find the springs anywhere.

Just called up wheel warehouse in anaheim the guy told me h&r is super stiff etc. i don't know if he's trying to sell me eibachs, but now im considering gold line. With the eibachs/koni do you think its lowered 1.6' front and about 1.2 rear?

hrsprings.com, phone 888 827.8881. I don't think H&R has released the springs just yet. Just look at Tirerack.com and the availability status is still "backorder".
Dude, try the Asian shops around you, man. Konis should sell around $525-575 OTD. Check out shox.com, too. I think they have free shipping for some of their products and are an authorized Koni dealer.
And thanks for the compliments.

I'll take some measurements of the car, but mine is a 6MT. 5AT front end will be a little lower given the same springs. But with Koni, you can lower the spring seats by 15mm and voila, the car sits lower already....
If you buy Koni that's developed for Neuspeed springs (called the SP3), the shocks has 5 perch locations, while mine (regular Sports) only has 2 for the fronts and 3 in the back.
I can't say anything about H&R until the company releases the springs for this car. But I've been happy with H&R previously before. It's true that Eibach might be a little softer than H&R though.
If you consider used shocks, check out v6performance.net. Some people are selling theirs. And you know that TSX, Accord, and TL share the same Koni shocks.

Love the rims, i have the cpmtech springs on order and hope they look as good as your eibachs. Would it be possible to see the car & rims in the daylight? it looks sick at night but want to get an idea of the daytime looks.

I've heard that Comptech springs are actually rebadged Eibach Prokit. So Comptech drop should be similar to Eibach's. Keep in mind that I lower the front spring perches, so it's lower than normal Eibach drop.
aznkikaz:
Don't worry too much about camber. The real killer is actually incorrect toe setting. Fortunately, toe on our cars is totally adjustable. Read Tirerack's articles about alignment and tire wear. Tirerack's done an excellent job explaining it. I do recommend installing aftermarket shocks (it means Koni) with the springs.
Eibach's literature in the box says that Eibach springs are designed to work with stock shocks, but due to the stiffer spring rate and it's lowered stance, the shocks are challenged more and have to work harder, causing it to prematurely wear out. My cousin has Eibach on his 04 TL and after 20k miles, the shocks are done.
bulacura:
I paid a little less than $3k for the whole set. Wheels, tires, center caps, lugnuts, center hub rings, mounting, balancing, even free flat repair.

260 HP - Car looks SICK!!!!! Wheel color looks like a great match to Anthracite!!! Great choice in wheel!!!
Did you do the suspension work yourself or did you take it somewhere??? (Did I miss that info in your posts?!)... If you took it somewhere, would you mind PMing me the info as I'm in So. Cal. and am looking for reputable shops....
I just get nervous when turning my baby over to someone that's never worked on a TL before, seeing as there is so much of the car that needs to come apart to get to the rear suspension.
And this is just IMHO - If you do a 35% tint all around and your ride will look even better than it already does!!!

Thanks for the compliments, guys!

I did all the work on my car myself, except alignment. I don't like to see people working on my car. I don't even like to go to the stealerships. But if you're looking for a decent shop, try Spark Racing in La Puente. You can find them on the Yellow Pages. Talk to the owner, Joey Lam and his rate is decent and they did pretty good job on my previous cars. They're specializing in dumping 3.0L Supra TT motor into almost anything. I once saw this motor inside an E36 BMW.
But I do recommend you to get together with your buddies one weekend and start tackling the suspension project. It's not hard at all and very doable without power tools, even though they do help speeding up the process.
I've been thinking about putting tint on the car, but I just don't have time, don't like to see people messing up the car, or pay $300+ for good tint. But maybe before Xmas or something....

So. Cali in da house!!!
Damn that looks hot!!
I love the car, the wheels and especially the DROP!
All I can say is you have great taste in cars.
Any issues with the ride and does bottom out or rub?
If you have a chance PM some more info on what it cost to drop and what parts you used.
We need to set up a mini So. Cal meet someday, cuz there are some really hot TL's in So. Cali.
You can check mine out: its alow budget version of yours

That's indeed one sweet TL!! Clean, smooth, shiny. DAMN! Real nice!
And of course, thanks for the compliments. I don't have any rubbing problems whatsoever, but I feel that the fronts hit the bumpstops pretty noticeable once in a blue moon. I think it's because I lowered the spring seats and didn't cut the bump stop. But unless I hit a bump real hard, it's OK.
The ride on OEM wheels is pretty good. Not as compliant as OEM suspension of course, but close. With 19" however, I now have more thunks and thumps from freeway joints, etc and it's definitely stiffer, but not enough to bother me. I guess it's the price I have to pay.
I'll send you a PM on what I have, but because I did the install myself, there's no labor cost involved.
Let's do a mini meet. I guess, we can make the meet a suspension install day or something, so other members can benefit from it, on top of the regular stuff (you know, lunch, checking each other's ride out, etc).

Thanks so much for the info man, im ordering thr gt-v tomorrow. i have to have them! Our cars are prob going to end up looking a lot the same: same rims, same color.. good thing were on different coasts I put the aem instake in the car this weekend and it made it sound incredible as well as gave some more kick. I would def. recommend it.
Thanks again fot the daylight pics, they made all the difference. The car looks great man, keep up the good work!!

BTW, I just measured my drop again. The car isn't lowered too much.... 1.5" F/1" R. I guess if you 6MT-ers leave the front spring perches on their original location, it's going to be 0.9" F/1" R.
So it's not too drastic or anything. It just looks a lot lower than it actually is, because the wheels sit so close to the fender lips.

Clean engine bay! What happened with the engine cover?
You really can't go wrong with Rays Engineering. The quality is top notch! I still can't believe I'm actually driving on them. If I could, I'd put them inside a display cabinet in my living room...
