$4, 5minutes Aesthetic mod

i always liked the chrome line on the typeS bumper so tried something new to make it look similar. not sure if others feel the same too, but i think chrome lines make tl look lower.

was planning to use thinner chrome strips but couldn't find any locally. most used to sell a roll of chrome strips but none carries them anymore. so i used door guards instead.

damn, beat me to the punch. I was planning on doing that exact same thing although it probably looks better on your car since I have a whole "darK' theme going on in the front.

haha.. you were too busy with the wheels. i'm gonna redo them once i find narrower strips. wanted the strips right on the middle where the grooves are but these door guards are too wide to fit in.

Well, they do on the Type-S.

Maybe not on the TL-S A-Spec? So you added them back?

acura should've kept the chorme strips on the aspec kit like the base bumper.
thought about doing this after i installed the aspec lip but it took 1.5 years to actually do it

Ahh, I didn't realize that you remove that for the A-spec front. Now that I look at some other TL-S with A-Specs, it does look like something is missing without the chrome strip.

EDIT: ok, after reading some more, I'm confused. You have a Type S...the fogs come with the chrome strips...why would you have to add them?

I was wondering the same thing. If you read the installation instructions for the TL-S front lip, it requires that you remove the original lower grills and use theones that come witht he lip. The ones that come with the lip do not have any chrome.

The TL-S lip comes with a new/different set of lower grilles? Huh...you learn something new everyday. Maybe the new ones are chrome-less in an attempt to look more sporty . Regardless, it looks good (now that I know what you did ).

It doesn't really come with a new set of grilles... it's just a plastic black bar (where he mounted the strips onto). That's all it is. And that plastic black bar doesn't have the chrome, this piece goes right on top of where the original grill with chrome bar was.

I wanted to do this, but couldn't find a small chrome strip I liked. I even looked at using the OEM chrome strips that come with the TL, but they wouldn't fit right.
