RV6 is off by 0.5"... the ATLP one is off by a decent amount. I think Josh said this one is exact!

"Best mod" and "best bang for the buck" are different... the former is subjective, whereas the latter is purely mathematics -- a ratio of proven gained whp to cost.

Even if the runners on the j-pipe are not equal length, as long as the runners+pre-cats are equal length or damn close then we have equal length exhaust collectors. I don't know if the pre-cats are identical length, I haven't had the privileged of swapping mine out yet, but I'd imagine they're close.

Any chance you have a side shot so we can see the ground clearance?

Now it's just a matter of time to see which of the 3 has best ground clearance for lowered cars+potholes+speedbumps.

Cool

Just opened the box. All I can say is "WELL DONE"!!! Looks VERY nicely put together. Great welds. And the fit? It's spot on....
Another winner from Josh!!

Love the manufacturer's little name tag.
Shows pride in workmanship!

Takes about 20 mins or so as long as the nuts/bolts aren't rusted too badly.

Cool

Well I finally got this installed today. All I can say is WOW!! It made my 2.5' custom exhaust come to life. Very powerful mod.!!! I did have trouble reusing the o-ring gaskets though. My mechanic broke one so he ordered all 3 new. Is it just a piece of wire bent in a circle?

Thats what I got anyway. Also I did think I heard a exhaust leak at WOT once today.....

What are the O ring gaskets for? My understanding is that this pipe does not come with any gaskets. Are they used between the J pipe and the pre cats/3rd cat? Also, did you feel any vibrations at idle or at a stop? I am trying to decide between this J Pipe and the ATLP version and am looking for info. I don't want any leaks but have read 2 posts now that indicate that this may be a problem with this J Pipe...

Go Vikes....

Yes, I wasn't sure what the o-ring were called. so.... No, there is no vibration at idle. But very nice increase in go power!!Very nice!!!!!

Wow....it looks amazing dude. I was wondering if it was the color of it is due to the camera, paint, or the metal. Because S.S304 isn't usually that color. Looking forward too purchasing it!!

It's a darked color than that picture. It's T304 stainless steel. But don't wait. You'll love the increase in power!! I know I do.....

Will this add as much with a stock 06 TL exhaust. I am doing the stage III mid muff delete and Dyno res on my 06 TL manual just for sound. It would be nice with a manual to have better sound and the J pipe for power.

The factory uses o-ring gaskets and they can be re-used. If you like, you can put some high temp silicone on the flanges of the j-pipe to give you an extra assurance that it will seal. But unless the o-rings get damaged, they will seal.

It will still add hp and tq but not as much as with the catback exhaust. Of course the catback exhaust itself also adds 10 hp/tq.

Which Catback exhaust adds 10hp? So the Catback and J-pipe would add almost 20hp ?

Cool 6mt your right. Hang on to someting in 2nd gear!

This is one of those few mod's that I can get behind and endorse! I mean if you don't notice the difference you got a problem. I think (providing custom exhaust system in place) this is the last piece of the pie! After I got the cold air kit, custom cats/header, free flowing exhaust. This just made my car jump! Big difference! Like I said this was the last piece of the puzzle for me, so get this today! You won't be sorry!!

jpipe installed!

got my jpipe in the mail today and went ahead and put it on. the jpipe is very nicely put together with very nice welds. hangs slightly lower than i expected but im not lowered yet. il worry when i lower my car soon. only thing im wondering is what gaskets do i use? cant reuse the stock ones. i put the pipe on the car with no gaskets but it leaks. im thinking about going to get some exhaust gasket silicone from autozone. i definately feel a power gain. i had to drive the car 20 miles for the ecu to adjust then it took off like a rocket! i just happened to be next to a gto and hung with him. can notice the exhaust is slightly louder. now time for catback!

You reuse the factory gaskets. And you can use some high temp silicone as an added measure if you want.
