XLR8 Exhaust System North of the border.

Without a Doubt......If It will pass local emissions testing here in Ontario, Canada I'm Installing this System on my car this summer.
Both high flow cats, J-pipe and exhaust front to back.
Just like to know if any "Ziners" know the answers?
I know California environmental laws are more restrictive then here so if its approved for sale there should be ok here right?
That's just my opinion, but you know what they say about opinions!
Looking for facts not "Cracks"
Any help would be good help!
Thanks EH

HFPC I'm not too sure of...but these may make you fail emissions.

The j-pipe deletes the 3rd cat (although you can get one that doesn't) but the 3rd cat has no sensor and I believe was only put on to make it to the "Ultra Low Emissions" category, so a j-pipe should give you no problems.

The XLR8 catback is just piping from the j-pipe to the tips, so adding this alone does nothing to your emissions.

Hope that helped!

Wow that was fast! both post questions answered in an hour!
Thanks its a big help did not know that the third cat had no sensor in it and was going to get the short J-pipe and the test pipe (for after the test) to keep the third cat........not now!
Im getting the long J-pipe and the cat back system...btw what does HFPC mean?
The XLR8 high flow cats are 300 bones each, so I will leave the stock cats up front and just install the J-pipe and cat-back unless I find out for sure that the high flow cats will not effect my ability to pass testing....untill im sure not going to place the order.
Thanks

Someone in the HFPCs thread said he passed Cali emissions with HFPCs and a 3rd cat still in place. I will find out next year haha. HFPC means high flow pre cats and they refer to the 2 up front, you can buy them as a set from rv6-p.com he's the one that sells them

You have to remember that Ontario has changed the way they do Emission tests, now they plug in to the car's computer, if you have a check engine light turned on, you automatically fail the test

I passed emissions in Utah with Richie's HFPC's, jpipe and a Tanabe catback. Unfortunately, they didn't give me the actual emission numbers so I wasn't able to compare how much (if any) emissions went up from stock. We're not as strict in UT as CA on emissions but we're not very lenient either. We have pretty nasty air quality on some days due to having mountain ranges on both sides of the valley. But even with the newer emissions restrictions, the HFPC's came through in spades. I just had to slap my EGR and charcoal canister back on to get rid of the CEL

The third cat isn't monitored so you won't trigger a CEL by replacing it. You should pass emissions just fine. I'm not a Canadian emissions expert but CA is the only place where an aftermarket cat like ours wouldn't pass in our experience.

As of Jan. 1,2013 emissions testing in Ontario changed and began using the on-board diagnostic testing method instead of the old method of measuring exhaust emissions straight from the tailpipe.

We are an authorized XLR8 dealer located in : Ontario, Canada.

Old ontario emissions failed with high flow pre cats.

New ontario emissions passed with 3rd cat jpipe delete and xlr8 catback !

And performance and sound amazing too !

You cant go wrong with xlr8 products!
