Who would like to help me pick out an exhaust system?

So I've seen all the posts about who thinks what is what and who thinks what's gay and stupid yes I've seen all the threads. What I'm asking is for more help towards what I'm looking for not what others are looking for so please don't bash my thread.

I've seen many different types of exhausts on YouTube but the thing is it's on YouTube. You can never really tell how it sounds. And I don't know anyone or have seen any other 3gen Acura TLs at meets around norther VA so I can't really see what sounds like what in real life you know?

I've seen some videos of the greddy evo2 exhaust on YouTube and that seems to be my favorite so far. I've also seen people just delete a car and muffler to make it a stage three or four stock system. But I don't really like how that's sounds. (The stage 3 isn't so bad) (the stage 4 just sounds stupid in a tl makes it sound like a shitty super car)

The sound I'm trying to go for is a deep raw strong throaty sound kinda like a modded Subaru sti.... I see people wanting to sound like a g35 and that's fine too but it's too weak for me. But I don't wanna sound like a super car screaming either just doesn't fit the TL personality you know?

Any anyone help?? I'm im the struggle please.

It doesn't really sound like you have done much research at all. If you had you would know what options are out there and have a general idea of what they sound like. If your going for an sti type sound, then sell TL-Purchace sti.

your username says it all.
just throwing on an exhaust isn't going to give you that "sti" sound.

Both of you are retarded... I have done my research. And yes I know I don't want it to sound "exactly" like an sti but that's the general description of what I'm trying to go for as far as the throatyness and deepness of the sound. So go screw off. .. And as far as having a general idea of something is bs because a general idea isn't worth me spending a but ton of cash for something I'm not gonna like so I'm sorry I'm trying to be smart with my money and actually get something I like and not have to deal with returns or set telling for bs you faggots so go eat meat and get a life because y'all obviously don't have one if all you're gonna do is bash someone's thread like do you really go around the internet and think hmmm let's see what negitive dumb bs I can pull outta my ass today.

You're obviously dumb and can't read read. I've clearly stated some examples of different mods and also have said that you can't get a good feel for how they are from YouTube being there's a million different videos of the same setup but sounds completely different. So please go back to elementary school and learn to read you jackass

OP, look--you're new here. But there is no need to resort to name calling. I would appreciate it if you would please refrain from doing that.

Cheers!

if you actually did the research and have in fact watched all the videos on what can be installed onto our cars.. then why would you have to make a thread about it?

there are only a handful of mods and exhaust system available for our cars, so i really don't understand why you're getting upset when someone's stating the fact that you haven't really did much research if you have to ask.

if you want an aggressive tone and did your research.. you'd know to delete your cats, perhaps throw on a HFPC and go with any of the popular exhausts available and you'll get that "sti backfiring sound".

if you know your exhaust tones, this sounds deeper than a g35 and closer to an STi.

was that so hard? faggot.

You're out of luck than OP. My exhaust is one of the best sounding exhausts available for our cars.

was that so hard? faggot.
was that so hard to post....

and once again with the research.... I've stated that i know that you have to delete the cat and go with a straight pipe...(stage3-4) and again as I've state before its hard to get a real life feel for how something is over the internet and with speakers. like with the other person who posted the video i first listened to it from my phone and it sounds completly different from how his car sounds from my laptop. so its hard to really see how it actually sounds IN REAL LIFE.... which is why I'm asking people who have heard their own set up in REAL LIFE if it sounds close to what I'm looking for. so please post something else about how i haven't done my research because you clearly haven't learned to read a full post. stop skimming

No such thing as the best exhaust. Weve all got opinions. For some reason on the acura tl facebook group everyone loves greddy and bitch at me for resenting it. Personally im gonna stand by my exhaust . Xlr8 ftw . And op vids sound nothing like real life. Whats loud to me might not be loud to u.

thank you and exactly everyone got their own opinions of what they think is the best. which is why i clearly stated that I'm not looking for opinions but for someone to actually relate their setup to the sound area I'm looking for but it seems that some people just can't read clearly...

p.s. the xlr8 dual tip with the xlr8 j pipe was my second choice after the greddy

oh and for the people actually helping nicely i have a 2004 acura tl automatic so I'm going to need something to fit on that not the type-s ..... I'm going to in the near future get the full aspec body kit and I'm 98% positive that the exit point for the exhaust tips with still too small to fit the double tip dual exhausts like the type-s have

please just keep on bashing and being unhelpful you're only wasting your own time. get a life like seriously. I'm sorry I'm not an acura tl sound expert. I'm sorry I'm trying to be smart with my money and not just waste in on things I'm not gonna like. I'm sorry for trying to get help from people who know what their car sounds like and could possibly relate to the sound I'm looking for.

now i remember why i stopped using acurazine. its just full of assholes who think they are the shit and when some new guy comes around seeking help from fellow TL owners they think he's retarded just because he's trying to asked the experienced ones for help. seriously don't understand why you gotta be ass wipes when all I'm trying to do is get some help because as I've stated there is no one around my area for me to actually go to and see and hear their setup in person.

We cant help you with sounds though... Everything sounds different to people. Youve gotta decide what you like through videos... We can help with the quality of each system. I bought my xlr8 with the help of vids, did it sound different? Yes, but shit sucks. But at this point its useless because your thread is going to be closed by Mr. Bell soon anyway.

seriously, its 2014, if you can't figure this shit out on your own, then you're helpless.
there's videos and sound clips for you to listen to with a click of a button.
i highly doubt everyone on here goes on 'exhaust listening' dates to decide on which exhaust they want to purchase. lol.
you have your own preference on what you want your car to sound like, nobody on here will know 100% what that is and educate you.

someone gives you a mediocre answer and you result to name calling?
we can only help so much, but with your shit attitude, goodluck.

OP really there are three legit choices...atlp, rv6,a nd xlr8. All three sound great and are manufactured well. People like them all differently because they have different tastes.

Since you have a base, I would eliminate rv6. Just gotta choose between atlp and xlr8. Whichever you go with, go non resonated and if that is too loud put in a resonator. If it's too quiet or doesn't have the roar you're looking for, add in HFPCs or pre cat deletes (not talking about our third cat, talking about the ones coming off the engine). I personally think xlr8 sounded the best in videos, so I went with the resonated version. Then I got HFPCs and it was too loud so I got a larger resonator. The sound changes with each variation.

Your initial post stated that you did research but you also didn't mention any of our vendor exhausts so it did come off like you didn't do your research when I first read it. We are helpful here but there are a ton of exhaust threads and for the most part we made our decisions listening to videos. It sucks but in the end, you can't go wrong with any of the exhausts sold by our vendors. Good luck!

I'm not sure but here on az greddy is not a top 3 as far as I have seen the last 5 years. I just know that there are been quite a bit of posts from members saying they took their xlr8 or rv6 exhausts to a shop and got a ton of compliments from exhaust installers saying how great the quality is...materials, welds, etc., not to mention that those vendors here also provide great customer service if anything goes wrong

nobody talks about greddy anymore because they discontinued making the evo2 for our cars awhile back.

I commented because ur being a lazyass who suck at using the resources provided by google, youtube, and acurazine. But in turn want ppl to hold your hand and spoon feed you and if they dont you go on a bitch fest... I dont think if you stopped using acurazine anybody would miss your lazyass.... There are hundreds of exhaust posts, are you not grown enough to go shopping by yourself?.. Is adult supervision required?

I think the XLR8 exhaust system is the best sounding exhaust on the market, but I may be biased.
