What will PCD's do to her?

What will PCD's do to her?
So i have been bouncing back and forth on the idea of getting a pre-cat delete.
Currently i have the mid muffler and resonator removed, replaced with a straight pipe and dynomax respectively, i also have my rear mufflers deleted with straight pipes as well. The last part of my exhaust set-up is a helmholtz resonator which is 26 inches to reduce drone.
I have played around with my exhaust and right now it sounds perfect, it is deep and at WOT it is a nice high race tone. The sudden question of PCDs comes in the pursuit of power. I want more but i do not want a ridiculously loud car, or one that is really raspy, dont get me wrong though i love the sound of e46 m3's. So is there anybody out there who might even remotely be able to give me an answer as to how PCDs would perform with my setup? Any help would be appreciated, point me in the right direction if im wrong or misguided. Thank guys!

pretty much what those 2 said.
although you can quell the sound by adding a resonator, if needed.
Once I added my true duals, the smell kinda went away.
it's not a bad smell. it smells like a weed eater/whacker.
or like a motor bike. raw fumes and power!
if you are worried about the sound, smell and emission testing, grab the HFC's from RV6!!!
most of the power without the sound and smell.
my friend has HFC's and XLR8 exhaust and his car sounds like an exotic!!!

I put PCDs on mine after I had the mid mufler removed and a dynomax resonator in place of the stock one. Before PCDs it sounded beautiful, but after I installed them and a J-pipe- WORST sound ever, I was embarrassed to go over 2900rpm b/c thats when the rasp started, and it was baaaaad. I tried a few different things and eventually ended up with the dynomax resonator, then a huge magnaflow resonator into the OEM mufflers, and the rasp is gone.

i have pcds and mine doesnt smell.. but i have the mid muffler removed and the v3 j pipe and its raspy. probably doesnt help that my flex pipes are rattling. i plan on getting the RV-6 true dual exhauset this summer

drone is a flat monotone sound that drowns out anything else.
the best way to describe rasp is VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO!
think honda civics with fart cans.
it's a honda characteristic, rasp.
I believe the firing order of the cylinders are responsible and the stock exhaust is engineered in a way to hide this sound, but once we start messing with things(replacing parts for performance) all bets are off.

I have been told my car sounds like a gallardo when im near redline
hmm the general consensus i am getting is dont get PCD's. Maybe ill get them and try it out, i just dont really want to pay for HFPC haha. I currently have two resonators in there and helmhotz and dyno so you dont think either of those will quell the rasp?

Im willing to be the test cow for this, haha should i pull the trigger?
this is what is sounds like now but this isnt under load. It is not as deep under load but it is much cleaner and smooth. It also have a high racy top end under load as well. PCDs im guessing would make this alot louder and raspier?

i have pre-cat deletes. and at first with stock exhaust, i hated to go above 4K rpm.
people with their windows rolled up would instantly turn their heads to look as I passed by.
lol just embarrassing.
Once i got the full catback(rv6) it made it sound sexy.

Gah, i cant justify spending so much money on a catback right now haha not on this car atleast. Im trying to save up for mods for a future e46 m3 haha

and then another clip with full pcd, jpipe and rv6 exhaust.

the thing is my exhaust isnt stock so it wont be anywhere near, i have practically no stock mufflers or resonators haha It will only be louder that the video i put up with PCDs

I keep thinking about getting them and I have similar exhaust to you... Dynomax res and stock rear mufflers deleted. They're on sale for another month too. Think you might wanna try a J pipe first? I didn't see you listing that.

I am running RV6 PCDs, RV6 LT JPipe, with mid muffler removed and replaced with magnaflow. The car sounds great when cruising and when I am under 3k rpm. The second I hit 3k rpm it sounds like it is open header. I am currently working on ordering a resonated catback to try and get rid of this sudden sound change, as it is quite annoying to me (just my opinion, to everyone their own). Like many members have mentioned, PCD will give you a little more exhaust smell when you are stopped at a light, or a drive-thru. Very little though. As for power, I did not notice a whole lot, just a little more response from the throttle and little more get-up-and-go on the top end. All in all, I think they were worth the money. If you decide to get them, enjoy!!
Oh and if you plan on doing the install your self, be ready.... That rear cat can be a little tricky. I can assure you there have been multiple threads covering this though. Good luck!

I thought about a j-pipe but there are more gains from a PCD and its not as much. But frankly i have not really looked into the j-pipe.

Loud is an understatement. My cold starts in the morning give the car an aggressive cam'd-like sound, so I'm sure my neighbors hate me. Then again, running RV6's PCD v3s, J-Pipe, 3rd cat delete & ATLP Quads.
The smell comes & goes, & the PCDs have kind of countered some of the drone I had before. The real "issues" is kissing gas mileage goodbye (esp. if the car throws lean codes) & watching your rear bumper get covered in exhaust grime above the pipes.

Might be best then if you're looking for an M3. Those cars will eat through your pocketbook even faster when the mod bug hits.

I thought about getting a new car too, and then I thought about those new car payments......my car is an 08 with 45k miles on it and it's paid for...it's in excellent shape so I said to myself why waste money on a new car and spend extra money modding it when I can spend that money on gas and mods for my TL....it was a win win situation me....dats just my opinion

They come with spacers for the secondary O2's, it just moves the sensors out of the exhaust stream further so they don't sense as much exhaust. I think most people are okay on CELs but it's gonna depend on the car. I've seen people use spark plug defoulers on other cars, same concept.
