The most popular intake for the 3G TL is the AEM V2.

All turbo aside.... I had the injen setup as well and imo out of everything I tried and saw, injen delivers the easiest install and best results for the $. And combined with the precat deletes and jpipe makes for a nice all motor setup

Justnspace being an ass? NO!

AEM has a dry filter which never has to be re-oil'ed like the K&N

I love K&N and am a continuous customer. K&N on s2k, honda fit, and now my Acura TL wooot!

Just a curious newbie that just got my '08 TL last week - but I don't understand how the AEM was no good and the Injen kicks it.....

Are they really that different? If so, awesome - I'd love to understand how because again I'm a newbie and I apologize but I don't know much yet..... sorry if that's annoying, but you have to start learning sometime, right?

Let me know why the Injen is great and the AEM doesn't cut it.

Thanks bro

The bypass valve is used so that if the filter takes in water or moisture it will be air from the bypass valve so that you computer does give you an error. I live in florida rains alot so i needed the that

I live in Ohio, just ordered the AEM V2 a few minutes ago - do I need to get this bypass valve? We get plenty of rain and snow - that's for sure.

Thanks man

Yea you would need a bypass valve to mount in the enjine so when the filter get any moisture the bypass valve will get the air. Not sure what size the V2 pipe is when you get it measure the diameter and order the AEM Bypass valve.

you can ask on the forum what the diameter of the V2 cai is and order the bypass valve online with the sizes are 2.5" 2.75" and 3" diameter

Yes. I just put in mine today. It sounds like any other intake, except 5x louder... I fucking love it! It feels awesome pushin' that pedal

It was a BITCH to install all by myself though. I'd recommend getting a friend to help you. You ordered it off Amazon, right? Such a good price

Yep, Amazon - $263 no tax free shipping. I can't wait to get it in, sure sounds like you love yours. And I am having a friend help me - thanks for the advice. He works at Ziebart and does this stuff all the time. Great friend to have for my new-found hobby.

Injen CAI customized lol...Sawed off the 3.5 inch section and put on a 6-3 velocity stack along with a slightly bigger (diameter wise) AEM dryflow filter.

Hell if I know - everyone on here just says "buy it."

I think about a 12-15 wheel HP gain, from the reading I've done. I do know it removes the 3rd cat.

It's so hard to tell on these forums, what's good and what's not. You can find different opinions on EVERYTHING.

Everything I had seen on this j-pipe was positive, until I saw some guy saying (and it seemed like he knew what he was talking about) that if the rest of your exhaust is stock - this j-pipe won't do much. So hell if I know, but I've seen 15 or 20 other people that said it makes a huge difference.

I'm just a fuckin idiot - and I don't really know. I've had my TL about a week and I LOVE it. That much I'm sure of.

Later man

It increases your diameter from 2.25 -2.5 I do believe. Free flowing exhaust = less restrictive = more WHP. The RV6 completely removes your 3rd cat as well turning it into a straight pipe (race pipe). Again, less restrictive and car will still pass emissions since its is an ULEV (Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle).
