What do you think is the best intake for my 05 tl??
So after two weeks of owning my TL I've decided to buy an intake. I wanted to know what has been working for everyone and maybe an estimate on HP gains. I also considered keeping the stock air-box but putting a K&N filter in it... what do you guys think??

Buy a cold air intake. (AEM,Injen, etc...) which are found in the Black market on our website or from one of our vendors. And if your staying stock just remove your intake resonator and put in a drop in K&N air filter.

Be realistic. If you are going to do other mods such as exhaust and j-pipe then get one as you might actually feel some benefit from it at that point. I put one on my car and while i might have gained a couple hp it's nothing you will notice but it does sound pretty sporty lol. Or just leave the stock air box in and remove the air scilencer. You'll get the cool sound for free!! Just leave the stock air filter in and put the money into gas. I don't think you'll miss the 1.34hp gain from it.

^You feel like you only gain that much, but you are actually gaining more. Dyno's have proved it...
To answer your question though, the "best" one is the AEM V2, but there really are the same. Apparently the V2 sucks air in differently, but they all do the same. I suggest buying a well known brand though. Go to excelerateperformance.com and see what they have, that is the cite where I bought mine from and they are also a well known vendor on Acurazine.

i have a cheap no name brand HD05AC is the part number, got it shipped for under $100 and came with a free K&N air filter, does anyone know if there would really be a difference between this being kinda cheap and spending a grip on a name brand other than the fact that not being able to convert to a short ram?
