Unless you're in a state that requires emission checks I would just buy a cheap ebay intake and buy an AEM or K&N air filter.

+1 on that ^^

You're mostly paying for the brand name. I had a CAI on my S10 from eBay for $90. The piping is just piping, the filter is what matters the most.

Don't get a short ram. Stock intake is better.

You could look at removing the stock intake resonator/silencer.

Or just get a CAI for a decent price somewhere if you want the noise.

I already removed the Resonator box and I like the sound better. Perfomace wise not much different. I really want a CAI but live in Indiana so am afraid of the puddles/flooding. Is there a CAI that maybe sits a little higher behind the bumber. Ive read lots of threads on this issue and most say I wont hydrolock but its still a concern. Thought about modifying a AEM CAI so that the filter sits maybe 4 or 5 inches higher but feel stupid buying a 200 part and cutting it. Does AEM, Injen, K&N CAI all sit about the same hieght behind the bumper

You're not going to get any meaningful performance improvement from a CAI either. A few HP at best. But a short ram is worse - drawing warm air from the engine compartment.

Ya I agree warm is bad. I guess what i want is a CAI that would sit directly under the battery. I would imagine the air is just as cool there. Maybe ill just use the tube off the resonator and run it off the airbox drop a K&N filter and call it a day.

I also was intrested in AEM V2 seems like alot of people on here have it. Ive googled them and cant find one that says its specifcally for 2008 acural tl 3.2 base. i also was thinking with my intake resonator off the box is just sitting in the engine bay much like a SRI.

Read some more threads. AEM CAI in the mail. Found some bad reviews of weapon R. The AEM does sit higher behind the fender than injen models for 3G.

I just went with AEM. V1. I couldnt justify 300 for so little gains. Also removing the resonator box is dumb and you lose power. Especially now that it's warming up. Stock TL pretty much has cold air intake that is restricted slightly by resonator. Sure removing resonator is a little less restrictive but your drawing warm air into your engine. Experienced a definit power loss in 3 gear and above when engine hot. Buy a CAI or stay stock. I really though something was wrong with my car. I could accelerate at 80 and still have great pick up. Now that resonator is off I can't exelerate for shit at 40 in 3rd gear. Hopefully CAI helps if not I'm going back to stock.
