You would probably be better off buying an aftermarket cat and hollowing that one out. Do you realize how expensive the OEM cats are? That would be a huge waste and is a horrible idea.

I completely agree with you... the OEM cats are a lot of $$$$ and people will pay for it if they were shortsighted and got rid of theirs and have emissions coming up.

Also what about just replacing the cat with a testpipe... I don't have immediate access to a TL to look under it, but is this a relatively simple solution for more power? It was so simple and cheap to replace the cat on my RSX and friends Integra with a testpipe and felt decent gains

was hoping to find a test pipe being that the honda accord has a lot more aftermarket part suppliers being in such volume 400k versus 75k units. anyone know a direct fit test pipe? anyone want to donate a 3rd cat for test procedures. the procedure being on how easy it is to hollow and can it been done perfectly i.e. all pieces out without banging up the pipe any.

Take it down to an exhaust shop and have them fab up something for you. That shouldnt come out to be more than 100 bucks tops. Though you might have to work with the o2 sensor, I believe there is one on the 3rd cat.

nope, no O2 sensor on the third cat. The two front cats off the front and rear manifold have 2 O2 sensors apiece, though.

the top end feels better but i don't have the high flow cats yet, which i'm working on making a pair for the car. i hit redline in 3rd and not cause i can't drive but the car fells strong, like it wants more and than the ecu say's NO MORE. thta the only way i can descirbe it.....

the sound is loud, but it has the drone like everyone else. i did something that only a few have done, i used 3" pipe and i think the others used 2.5" pipe all the way back to one muffler. at higher rpm's it sounds fine, and if your not in it (on the pedal) it's fine. the drone i could deal with out which i will get a high flow resinator installed....
