I thought libert went through like 3 axles but then again it's easy to get lost in the vast space of that turbo thread, lolol.

for the pistons and rods - I thought libert69 said he was running on OEM rods just fine? I am almost positive that the idea of rods being the weak link was thrown out the window in favor of just upgrading the pistons. Although you probably will sleep easier at night if you have upgraded rods. Sadly I just don't think there's enough people with boosted j-series to have any empirical data on whether or not the rods really need to be upgraded.
Please post a link to the thread/post if you know of one. Otherwise, please don't precipitate the scare.

Check the turbo thread, all of the info is there. He, like me, is running Pauter rods. There have been plenty of posts here and on the other J-series forums regarding bent rods. They're VERY thin compared to aftermarket offerings. At 350-400whp the stock rods may not cause a problem, but after that, they have been known to physically bend.

Oh.. you have no idea. Due to the LSD, it's actually quite docile. It looses grip, makes a loud screeching sound, and that's really it.

I have an 04 TL 6-speed and its supercharged. It's fun especially when being boosted in a TL isn't a dime a dozen deal. The best is when a jackass in a civic or mustang mess with you, all you need to do is throw it down a gear and have it WHINE.. Anyway, I have roughly 2,000 miles on a brand new comptech unit, to be honest I haven't been using my car. From Sept to now I only put 2,000 miles and my only reason for the install was to be different and win awards. If anyone is interested in a new-ish unit PM me. I don't enjoy it as someone else who would, so I would part ways if someone has the money to buy it.

I am selling my m90 custom supercharger with intercooler that I took off to go all motor...

Honestly SC is a "safer" way IMO, others may have other opinions but in the end you are boosting your engine. Lower compression/build motor means you will need more boost to see results..If your building an engine..go all motor..nothing like it.

I can vouch for Bruce, his blower is legit. What he said is correct, for the safest way to go would be SC and call it a day.

Remember Comptech build the SC for a completely stock TL. I agree like others doing exhaust work will help out as well as bypassing coolant lines going to TB to keep temps down. Eric has put roughly 100K if not more on his comptech blower and has ZERO issues with it. He hasn't blown a motor either..

The power is great, I believe it's enough for a FWD car. You pop open that hood everyone goes "Oh, shit" "Wow" "Shit's clean" "Damn, he's boosted" "Let's hear it whine" puts a smile on your face. It's rare to see a TL boosted, which is why people least expect it when you down shift and blow their doors out LMAO. Anyway, I've been a big fan of blowers vs turbo, bang for buck deal.

If the pricepoint was 1/2 of what it costs, even used...I might have a shot at convincing the wife. Otherwise, I have to just settle for making the little blower charge myself and hoping that my passengers buy it...

Fk, you guys talking about it make me want one pretty badly. I can convince myself of anything by justifying or not. Earlier in this very thread I'm saying that boosting is dumb and look at me now...ing over it.

And I've seen the CT unit fs in the BM between $2400-$3000 many times. Seems like a good deal to me.

Running the proper supporting mods, like a meth kit and a tune, you can run the high boost pulley correct?

Bruce, what are you selling your kit for?

2400 range usually means the kit is missing parts and or handed down from owner to owner. Close to 3000 you get a blower used with 10-15K and maybe one or two things missing. I wouldn't recommend the HP pulley, the car is quick enough on the STOCK pulley.

I understand it's fast...but I don't know if just exhaust mods, tune, and the regular CT unit will get me to my goals. So I was asking about the HBP, if done right, if it could be ran.

Here's another question... what potential issues arise, if any, if you want to use the CT SC with the 3.7 manifold and zdx TB?

^Custom build from Paul (forgot username) I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Or buy Bruces (which may be from Paul itself). That thing looks like a beast.

bruce is selling his complete PNP kit with sc, cooler and extras for 4.5 k. all anyone would need is the FIC or Flashpro. paul built his, and to my knowledge is the only one making these kits. this thing was no joke. i seen him destroy cars on the road u wouldnt expect. to be honest, if any one is interested in the m90, i would highly recommend getting bruce's kit. the builder is booked for months, if not a year in advance. this is not just a mod, it takes much time to complete the build in addition to his fully booked schedule.

Its me that is selling the kit. Everything is included, MP90 (build that it buils max boost quick and at a safe range). The comptech is actually an MP62 which is way too small IMO/FACT for a HBP or its life. The comptech "kit" is a m62 as said before with just some piping/stuff to make it work, it doesn't come with tuning or anything else that pauls/the one im selling comes with. My kit has the two oil/coolant overflow tanks, power steering pump with angled piece (needed to reroute the PS hose). Paul welded mine in the PSP so I left it in, bought a new PSP and am selling it with the kit. I also had him make me a special intercooler to cool down temps. I never ran meth because we aren't boosting enough PSI and meth kits can be time bombs if not properly installed/used.

My kit is complete...all you would need is a tuning computer but I am going with hondata ECU, so my AEM FIC with pauls plug and play harness included for $500 once that HONDATA ecu comes in.

The reason I am selling it is I went to pauls all motor dual TB..I get sick of things fast and this SC enabled me to beat a vette..imagine the looks I've seen on peoples faces when I beat them in a TL. PLUS my kit is able to fit on 4G TLS/ TYPE-S..some other J series motors that comptech kits can't fit..

Have to disagree with you... I was running HBP with EMB (tuned) and made 329 to the wheels with other bolt ons...

Currently under construction for build of MBP (max boost pulley) @ 10psi with additional bolt-ons and custom FMIC. It's been done before me, I'm only referencing the successes of those who have documented their trials and errors.

The MP62 can definitely handle additional boost as long as the IMAT is kept in check...

Right about that!

Well that maybe true and has been done before, but statistically speaking, the SC shouldn't have it as its not meant to handle it, although it can for some short period of time. Honestly I forgot exactly why, but that is the whole reason why I went M90. Something about the half size of the pulleys diameter should be x amount of RPM's which exceeds the limit statistically of the m62.

Not saying you can't get it done, or what not, but I just wouldn't. To me, the comptech "kit" is ok...If I had both..I would still only use the SC itself..ACM sucks, doesn't come with anything else "worthy"...besides hoses and such...

There are guys running 600-700+ on stock rods/internals. They are plenty strong imo (Though does it hurt to have stronger, no), the Biggest issue is tuning. Without it with higher boost the internals wont last.

you jump to so many conclusions and do no research. I cannot wait to see your build. well actually it will be someone elses build that your paying for but anyway thats a different subject. No one said TL or FWD in the mention of 700HP these motors are used in other areas as well. hint: sand rail
