Wanna go PCD with otherwise stock exhaust '07 TLS?

can I do this? Pros/cons? Reason being one of my primary (bank 1) cats is gone and I need to replace it. Is it a good idea to replace them both?

thanks in advance

It can be done....Cheaper than going back OEM, and also performs better. If going PCD's than replace both.

are you looking for performance or to just to fix the problem and keep the car stock?

And how are emission inspections where you are?

If you go aftermarket, to get the full benefit you should look at j pipe, catback exhaust in the future.

Go with the PCDs. Get rid of the bad cat and get some power in the process.

Before you do anything, think of the pro's and cons of this mod.
Whats the function of the stock primary cats?

A catalytic converter (colloquially, "cat" or "catcon") is an exhaust emission control device which converts toxic chemicals in the exhaust of an internal combustion engine into less noxious substances. Inside a catalytic converter, a catalyst stimulates a chemical reaction in which noxious byproducts of combustion are converted to less toxic substances by way of catalysed chemical reactions. The specific reactions vary with the type of catalyst installed. Most present-day vehicles that run on gasoline are fitted with a "three way" converter, so named because it converts the three main pollutants in automobile exhaust: an oxidising reaction converts carbon monoxide (CO) and unburned hydrocarbons (HC), and a reduction reaction converts oxides of nitrogen (NOx) to produce carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen (N2), and water (H2O).[1]
it also helps muffle sound.

So, by replacing your STOCK primary cats with straight pipes; you will get a smell and noise.

if you think this mod is something that you would like to do, by all means CARRY on.
Butt, Please, think of the consequences!

Well being that there is 87,000 miles on the car, the primary (bank 1) failed. I do not know the condition of the other pre-cat. That's why I was asking would it be best to replace both pre-cats together? What if the other one is pretty clogged to. Wouldn't it affect performance?

What are some High-flow cat options? Any deals currently?

Thanks for all the help

there is only one manufacture that is currently producing High flow cats.
RV6.
http://rv6-performance.com/index.php...mart&Itemid=66

It's still a catalytic converter, but instead of the 600 cell count (type-s primary cats) its a 200-300 cell count.
for $555, it comes as a pair.

There are no "cheap" High-Flow cat options. RV-6 (a vendor on AZ) does make a HF option and they are on his website. Richie is a great guy to do business with. I have been running the HFPC's for almost a year with no problems. There is no smell or rasp with my setup.

Won't the 3rd cat quiet down the exhaust and eliminate any rasp?
