Valve cover question

Long story short, I had my valve covers sandblasted, specially told the guy to not do any blasting on the bottoms, and even taped the underside up, but alas he was an idiot and didn't listen, and now I am deathly afraid of some sand being trapped somewhere inside the covers. I done extensive washing, rinsing and concerned about this breather valve (lets call it a valve, bc it limits pressure) Is there a safe wave to remove and reinstall it? It's plastic and I am reluctant to pull to forcefully on it.

Before you ask, I was going to just order new ones, but the front is on backorder with no date for it being back in stock.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Grab a hold of both valve cover and PCV and twist / pull.
Just beware the o-rings may be brittle and need replacement if you don't replace the whole PCV

That's just the PCV valve you're looking at. It should be replaced anyway as it's a consumable.

Twisting while pulling the PCV out will help. If you can get it to twist, you're 3/4 of the way there.

Thank you all for your insight, and help- feel pretty stupid about it- but live and learn I suppose.
