Type S Turbo Exhaust Info

My Fellow Import Tuners,

As you already know, I have a custom J&R turbo setup on my Type S. I'm contemplating new exhaust ideas since the new build is currently underway. Just need some info and advice on exhaust piping and your thoughts. I plan on having 3 inch piping from down pipe all the way back to the y pipe, from there, can I get away with tappering it down to 2.5 inch or should I just do the 3 in all the way. If I do the 3 inch, what mufflers would be best suited. Thanks for the comments and input.

3 all the way. No sense in skimping with the build you have rolling.

I used Magnaflows 11229's and you can angle them to help clear the rear sway bar.

It is ok to split into 2.5". IMO, mufflers become a personal taste.A sound one likes, another might not

Are you looking to run one muffler or two? I was thinking of doing a 3 inch all the way, but like the stock look of two mufflers and would need to do the 2.5 inch split to the mufflers. I was considering doing a single 3 inch and leaving the mufflers to keep the sleeper look if I could get the exhaust quiet enough.

Its going to cost me some cheddar....the mufflers I want are 450 a piece, plus i guessing another 1500-2000 for piping and labor.

The mufflers I'm thinking abot getting are the HKS Carbon Fibber Ti Tip. 170mm shell, 75mm inlet. Carbon Fiber canisters will go along with the CF theme of the car.

I was thinking the same, but there is no since in hiding. I'm going to run 2 mufflers. I'm going all in. Intimidation Factor!!!!!

How long are the mufflers? I've found that 20" overall length was the limit for doing it myself. Could be a pro is able to do this with no problems.
