I priced out the Type-S exhaust, the price is really not that bad, I am thinking that I may go ahead and order one some time soon. It has a better flow and the awesome dual tips!!

Has anyone else thought about this?

Wouldnt you also have to change the lower lip or rear bumper cover too....are the new dual tip openings on the bumper not a bit bigger than ours? I was considering the same thing.

I haven't gone that far yet. I would need to measure, but I don't think its going to be that much bigger. If I get a chance, I will get some measurements.

I'm considering this also, I've got the A-Spec Bumper though... I like the stock exhausts (its unique... havent seen other ppl with trapezoid-style exhausts), but the TL-S exhausts are more my style...

I do believe they are.

Looking at it, I think you are right. What I am thinking though, is that plastic piece is removable. My friend at the dealer just ordered the Type-S ones for me. I am going to see if the rear bumper can be cut and these mounted in there place.

If someone wanted to do the whole rear bumper, it retails for 275-300. But that is unpainted. I am going to toy with the idea and see what I can come up with. I love that exhaust look, its cheaper then the comptech and doesn't have the big openings.

I went to Tustin Acura and looked at the TL-S. The exhaust tips are bigger and the cutouts on the rear bumper to clear them are much bigger too.

to successfully do this, you need the entire 07 TL-S exhaust and the TL-s rear bumper. I dont think you can buy just the rear tips of the TL-S. I believe someone else here verified that you buy the whole stock TL-S exhaust system.

We know you need the whole exhaust. The piece I am talking about, is the plastic piece that sits right above the exhaust. This piece is held on by a plast push pin. You can remove it without removing the bumper. What we want to see is if you can cut the rear bumper and use the Type-S plastic pieces to cover up the cut and give room for the dual exhaust.

If you really love the stock exhaust sound then go for it.

Yes it will. The exhaust between the TL and TL-S are identical except for the muffler and the tip. All the mounting points is exactly the same. Also the pipe size is also the same.

I believe when Acura say the TL-S have a higher flow exhaust, they are talking about higher flow cats.

Don't the 07 mufflers have the tips integrated into the design?

From what I've heard, the TL-S sounds quite a bit louder than the TL. But I'm not sure if that's due to the exhaust or the 3.5L

I did not notice any difference in the exhaust sound from the TL to the TL-S. To me $600 can be spent on a new resonator and mufflers, and weld on the TL-S tips.
