Ray, I was informed that you are building a remote mount turbo system for your vehicle and wanted to contact you. FYI - STS owns the patent on building and installing remote mounted turbo systems. We do offer individual and bulk licensing agreements so that people can legally fabricate remote mount turbos so please contact us. Operating under our license is the best way to ensure that you are not infringing on our patents and also ensures that you will get the proper parts and engineering/technical support to do the job properly and end up with a system that works well.
Could this fellow be our answer to a turbo kit?

I think our Mikey has better chances coming out with a Turbo than any "pro" I've seen on here. Hack even I have better chances producing a Turbo in my garage, haha.

Basically...if there is someone from where STS is from...they are willing to work with you to set up a remote mount system. They have the technology and R&D to more or less eliminate the lag issues that used to exist in these kinds of systems. What he said was he could send you a universal kit and work with you setting it up....OR...one could drop their car off there so they could use it for the R&D and get some parts in exchange for letting them develop it on your car for mass market.

damn yo... sucks that they're so far away... if anyone needed a 2G for R&D on a Turbo and they were only a couple hours away, I'd be haulin ass to sign up... I'm assuming a turbo kit for a 2G would be similar to a 3G, especially if it was a remote/rear turbo, with the only major difference being engine management. If that's the case, having a bolt-on developed for a 2G would be a considerable stride in developing one for 3Gs... I could be wrong, tho, but I'd still give up my car for R&D if there's a place not too far away attempting to develop a kit

Nice! Good luck finishing this project! I think you've made more progress than everyone else combined at this point
Just out of curiosity, do you think that can the turbo design you're developing could eventually be further engineered to fit 2nd gens, as well? Based on the fact that the 3rd gen models were derived from 2Gs, I would think that the less complex ecu with similar technology that is simply a little older should make the cars a little easier to work with once you've already done it on a more advanced model, wouldn't it? I'm just curious about whether or not the final design can be fine-tuned a little more for the development of a bolt-on for other models... My assumptions could be totally wrong, but at least thinking this way makes me happy for now, because I really want to go f/i later on down the road

They're pretty similar, I'd say the biggest difference is all that extra plastic covering , but otherwise they're very similar... the headers are different, too, but in reality, I think that they're similar enough that the most work in coverting the kit for a 2gen would come from fine-tuning engine management

Im glad that your posts indicate some sort of progress. So what kind of engine management are you gonna use? Do you already have something put together as far as the hardware(manifold)? Also what size turbo, please be a big-ass gt35r!

Regardless of the 2g or 3g, most of the plastic panels will need to be removed in order to fit everything under the hood.
Basic specs at this point are twin turbo, size is not yet determined. Engine management is also yet to be determined, and there will most likely be an air to water intercooler.

Yes, DEFINITE high five! Glad to hear that someone taking initiative has finally gone past simply thinking about it...
PS- you can remove all the plastic covering in my car for all I care if that's what it takes to get a TT 2gen
