My friend's Top Fuel exhaust cracked not too long ago and another guy's HKS downpipe didn't even fit. Therefore I can only conclude they have 100% failure rate and nobody should ever buy anything from Japan.
Sorry, by highly boosted I meant everyone does/wants to do it. Not running high boost. It's a known fact that cheap, crappy welds fail on ebay systems. This is from countless experiences personally and on the web.

It's like saying, just because you over revved your motor and it blew, doesnt mean mine will when I rag on it.

I'm done arguing this. LOL

anyone else notice the angle and how close those mufflers are to the driver side rear tire?

Every other system has angled tips to avoid this problem. Just an FYI. Looks a lot like comptech from the side.

And what is with the tow hook? you get stuck a lot? jk

the mufflers are at least 4 inches from the edge of that heat shield. They need to be positioned directly under the shield for obvious and not so obvious reasons.

i was just thinking about this, since the muffler gets pretty hot, and its right next to the tire, isnt it going to weaken the sidewall? and eventually lead to the tire blowing out when u hit a decent pothole?

^^^ yes that can happen if you are driving around on the moon !!!!

but thats why the mufflers have a head shield so that the heat doesnt propagate through to the tires !!!!!

that heatshield is not meant to isolate the muffler from the tire like u stated before.

its meant to isolate the heat from the trunk. do u really think that heatshield will do anything for the tire? it extends downward ~1"

The exhaust is not quiet, it's lound but not too lound. It's 3 inches from back tires to mufflers. the pic above shows that they are testing it under the car.

LOL, its been a while since I've been on this forum and I realized that there was this thread. I have this Tsudo catbak as well, because my car, the one in the pictures and the video, was the test car used to create the prototype! All I can say is that I am very happy with the sound and the results, haven't gotten it dyno'd yet, but I can feel a noticeable difference in the pickup. Best of all, since I was the test car, I got the keep the final finished product for free!

Though, the final price seems kick ass already for the great quality that you get. Incidentally, the system in the pics on my ride for the first post was only a prototype. To answer some of those out there that "evaluated" the welding on the first post, the final product that I received was much more refined, and built solid.

I've posted some more pics that I took tonight below!! Though I've seen many of you have posted your own pics.

It's funny to see some people here pick this system apart, hot muffler melting the tires.........come on are you serious grecco9885. Anyway I'm just a newbie that just got a TL with no plans on adding any performance upgrades. I was browsing ebay saw this system and was just curious if anyone had to give feedback because I thought the price was insane. I'm not trying to take this thread too off track and if anyone has anything to say to me send me a PM.

I'd still prefer the mufflers and system to follow the OEM path and have angled tips.

haha...I think the $400 johnny spent for the exhaust was his only gas money because he's rolling with the empty light on and we cant hear the exhaust when you only rev to 2750...go fill up and take another vid please...maybe try shifting at 6000 or redline

i just replayed the videos on my desktop computer with bose speakers. its pretty loud and droney like other typical catback systems in 2~3k rpm range. still a good deal for $400 shipped.

longer magnaflow resonators and midmuffler should tone down more.

I have been driving on this for about three weeks now, and I personally think its a bit quiter than other catbacks, though it still has the performance sound that I was looking for...there is almost no drone or maybe I'm used to it? I'm not sure but I get alot of comments and questions about this exhuast after I got it.

So what? Exhaust doesn't take more than an hour to install...and you're not making any permanent changes.

Get it!

lol.. what gains? There's so many variables on a dyno run and between the type of dyno, you wouldn't be able to correlate between the gains of this catback to the testing condition variables.. you might as well look up gains on any catback or ask how much whp adding a vtec sticker to trunk will add..

These are NOT magnaflow mufflers. Even if private label Magnaflow mufflers were used expect the pricing to almost double, I guarantee it. Every system has it's peaks and weaknesses. The few systems we have for our TL's in the past were in the more expensive range of the spectrum. This system just caters to a different group of people. Some people are very detail specific and care about fitment, finish, and quality, where others don't. I'm one that does, I just feel that if it's going to look "cheaper" than stock and have worse fitment..then why bother? I think the point of individualizing cars has lost its purpose and people are just modding for the sake of adding more names to their list, than realizing why they wanted it in the first place. To put things into perspective, the RAW cost of our systems is at LEAST double of this systems listing price. That doesn't include any of the labor and shop time involved. Lastly, the TL is a pinnacle to luxury for the Acura line up. Don't go out and ruin that.
