Track Ready TL
Track Ready TL
Hey everyone, I've been involved heavily with road racing over the past 7 years and recently I finally took my 06 Acura TL Dynamic package to the track and had a blast....(video footage uploaded soon on youtube)
I've got the AEM Cold Air intake and I've got the Stop Tech Cross Drilled Vented rotors. (boiled my fluid by the end of the day)lol
The TL was a wicked Track car as I was playing cat and mouse with an S2000 all day (Except the retarded amount of body roll)
I Want to know exactly what else i can do to my car to make it faster without the Comptech S/Charger.
What Coil over kit do you guys recommend for Track Purposes?

honda had a racing tl. they used the H&R coilovers with the progress rear sway bar.
if you search on google you should find a good 50+ pictures of it at thunderhill.

For track use I'd run stiff suspension
Send excelerate a pm, he's a vendor on here and he's pretty much on top of the suspension game for this car since he offers a wide variety of upgrades
1. Progress Rear Sway Bar
2. Full Coilover Kits
Then there is also the front strut tower bar

Did you read the link above?
It's crazy! The TL won it class by 49 LAP'S!! Unheard of! Right? I know I am impressed!
Brakes - Your StopTech are on the rihgt track. Plus pads RB ET500 or similar. SS Brake Lines. DOT 5.1 Fluid for the most serious use. Otherwise consider Amsoil DOT3 or DOT4 - both have a higher temp range than typical DOT3 or DOT4 fluids.
Performance - Exhaust/J-Pipe, Pulley
Tires - at LEAST a really good high performance all season; better yet a good summer tire; Best a DOT Competition or "R" Compound tire - HUGE upgrade. Also light-weight wheels - say 16 - 18 pounds.
Susp - 24mm RSB; upgrade springs/shocks or go with coil-overs.

Seriously though...good to see somebody else track the TL. Current Indy Region SCCA Street mod champion for 2008 season here...and did it in the TL. I would agree....the TL will suprise a lot of people. And people really seem to love to watch it run as well.....good crowd pleaser due to the massive whining from the supercharger.

Coilovers, if you just want something out the box, H&R's. Although, KW seems to have a new set for the TL.
Better brake fluid, Motul RBF600r.
Relocate battery to trunk.
Better tires.
I personally liked the way the stock 6MT RSB felt on the track. When the rear end starts to break loose, it's very easy to correct and the feel is also very predictable.
Also, don't get Falken-615's. Butter.

You don't want it anyhow.
24mm on "firm" is enough. Much more and you really start to risk swapping ends everytime you lift/modulate throttle in a hard turn at track speeds.
I believe Carey just paid like around $18,000 for the car if I am not mistaken....built. It was built by the same guy who worked on my cars....Joe Demaree. The previous owner built it and really never did anything with it as he had a hard time launching and hooking it up. Prev owner since bought a new vette and procharged it among other goodies. But rumor has it...that the S2000 pulled 5 - 6 cars on him between 40mph - 135mph (roll race) or something like that recently.
