Torque pro alternatives for iPhone?
so i know many people that run torque pro for their android and really like it, but i have an iphone and haven't come across anything that comes close.
are there any good real time ecu parameter apps like torque pro for the iphone? something where i can dock my phone and see all the data dials/gauges as i drive?
i know flashpro has something similar but that's only on the newer versions and when i bought one of the first flashpros for the TL it didn't have the bluetooth module as part of their package yet
i'm not so worried about reading scanner codes since i know many apps do that, but looking more for the ecu outputs like torque pro has
the only one i've come across that seems decent is dash command. anyone use this one?

There are alternatives, no equivalents. Of course you'll have to pay the apple premium which in this case is close to 10x more. Plus most apps that resemble the most torque don't even come close to being as functional.

It's not the price of the app that is the problem, it's the obd2 adapter. Torque is 5$ and all you need is a 5$ unit so 10$. For iphone, dash is 10$ and to function correctly you'd have to purchase their adapter which is much more expensive. My buddy bought an adapter on ebay and said it never worked. Even on the dash website, the generic 10$ adapter is for android only. He read in the forums that it's due to Apple's limitations on bluetooth transmission protocols and decoding, stating the same reason why you still can't send files by Bluetooth on ios. It might have changed since he looked into this, but dash website still supports that theory.

Let me put it this way.
Dash is an iPhone. It works well, it's well polished, it looks good, its smooth, it offers you many options and features and satisfies anybody that uses it.
Torque is an Android back in 2013. The interface looks outdated, its not as smooth as it could be, it needs an overhaul as it hasn't had a significant UI upgrade and needs one fast. But if you put the looks aside, its by far the most feature-full app on any mobile OS. It works with just about anything, it's a little complex for non-techy users, but eventually they get the hang of it, but most of all, its able to satisfy any power-users appetite. Torque is on a level of it's own. There are just SO MANY plugins, extensions and themes to chose from you can almost forget how ugly it looks stock. There is no other app that provides as many metrics...if your car provides the data, torque will show it to ya.
I honestly think there is no more perfect comparison between both than the same relation iOS and Android had not too long ago.

Can't help you much, sorry.
I use Dash Command mainly to check engine lights, using one of my iPhone 3GS's.
I did check out the gauges like coolant temp, RPMs, etc and it's pretty cool and feature packed. Not something I would mount my 3GS to the dashboard when driving, though.

ELM 327 Wifi
It's the bluetooth one that won't work on iPhone since Apple doesn't use the same BT protocol, or restricts it. Jailbreaking the iPhone works, or just get a wifi one instead of bluetooth.
