I realize that. Science of Speed specializes in the NSX motor. The early C motors make around 210-220 whp stock. The modded nsx I dynoed made 232whp (header, intake, full exhaust.) Another local NSX owner had a fully bult motor by SoS, and he made ~280whp with ~230 torque. It is $10-$15grand for SoS to supply the parts, and build the motor. He could have went more aggressive for about the same price, but it is a pump gas street car tune.

I completely agree the only benefit to that motor is the rpm's. That motor can see a huge amount of abuse compared to the j's. You really have to study the two and you will see the benefits of both engines. They all have secrets. I would still take a C if I had the money. 90 degrees of six banger beuty

Oh and look up a time attack nsx and tell me a j could do that....... If you still think the way you do. Then I dont know what to tell you. The j is not a special motor. every car company out there has a 300 horse six and they all die at 7 grand. So while you shift through all your six gears I'll still be in 3rd..... and lookin way cooler than a TL especially the newer fuck piles.........

I know what your talking about. My next car is going to be an early NSX, and it will be getting a J swap. I just havnt found the right car yet.

From what little info I have on the C-series, it would be much more comfortable at sustained high rpm operation and has the potential to breathe better than the J35.

C32 has a bore and stroke of 93x78mm.

J35 is 89x93

Piston speeds are going to be considerably lower at the same rpm on the C series and the larger bore has the potential to breathe better if taken advantage of.
I also see that the NSX engine has titanium connecting rods.

To put it in perspective, the C32 at 8,000rpm has the same piston speed as the J35 at 6,700rpm.

At 7,000rpm, the C32 has the same piston speed as the J35 at 5,900rpm.

Since it's a 90 degree engine, I highly doubt it will fit in the Tl's engine bay but I've always liked 90 degree engines for racing.

To sum it up, basically you can probably make the same power with either engine but the C series is going to be a lot more reliable and less stressed when run hard.

Obviously a forged and properly prepped bottom end can level the playing field for the J but you have to use exotic connecting rod materials because there's no way around the higher piston speeds.

I just did a quick search to get the specs, I'm sure there are other differences in the C series favor.

Just one more, I was playing with the calculator and the average F1 engine at 14,000rpm has about the same piston speed as the J35 at 5,900rpm.
