The TL has a drive by wire throttle. We don't have a carbuerated system. What good would this do for us? I tend to think none, but I may be wrong

The Blitz throttle controller is designed for the drive-by-wire! They already have the units out for Nissan and Infiniti. It's supposed to give you the ablility to increase the throttle response at different rpms. It's a plug-in-play so it should be a good mod.

I'm not sure why you would spend money on this. You can't pick up power. When the throttle blade is all the way open, it's open. All this thing can possibly do is change the way it's "ramped up" and that's only for feel. I guess if you want the car to feel like it's faster for less pedal input then it would work. I really don't get the import community and the things they spend money on.

So do you think my 20mm cannon mod would be a waste of cold hard cash? I don't think so. Yeah, the ammo cost is high, but as long as I'm only using a 3 round burst it should keep things under control. I mean, I don't THAT many Hummers, Big Foot wannabes and other freaking idiots that pull out in front of me. True, some of the larger pickups may require 6 rounds, but that's only because I can't afford the AP or HE rounds. The tracer rounds ARE pretty awesome however and definitely give the other drivers fair warning.

Disclaimer: This is humor. No actual 20mm rounds were discharged during the writing of this post. If you do not think this is funny, my sincere apologies. Maybe you should hang out with me for a few days, buy me some beers and I can probably come up with something equally outrageous, but tailored to your taste.

From what I have read the OE engineers don't allow you to actually go 100% full throttle; it usually is limited to 90-95%. This allows you to really get 100% throttle. This mod is helpful especially when tuning. I don't know what hte gains will be on the TL but I guess someone will try it out and let us know.

It's not really about more power. It's a throttle response controller! Think of it like reaction time at the track. Two cars that are equally matched...the win normally goes to the guy with the better reaction.

I could understand if you were racing around a course in a manual and needed precise control of the throttle for heel and toe action but for the street, an auto, and the 99% of drivers that can't properly heel and toe and rev match, it's wasted money. If this was a $40 item it might be worth it.

Maybe this is the difference in the crowd that bought their TL to get from point A to point B and the crowd that's trying to make it into something more than a semi-luxury commuter.

Maybe...I know I've had fast cars in the past so it's hard not having that punch. I know it's not a high performance car, but you still want to feel it a little.

You should have read my review of the sprint booster...it's on the main forum....have it on for 1 week now and love it....but it's hard to convince people since their first reaction is that it's BS. I think the car is much quicker at lower speeds.

I have a 2006 TL AT, the installation is under the hood not the gas pedal. Pop the hood, lift the top cover on the passenger side and you will see one plug....take it out, plug the sprint booster into it and plug it back...that's all you have to do. In Toronto i got it for $280.

Did a google search on 'sprint booster acura tl'

Came up with this:

http://www.acurawoodbine.com/autosport.cfm

$279.99

Looks like the S2000 is the same as the TL?

well call up blitz today to check on throttle controller but mike I believe said they made one tried it but it's not functioning the way it should ..so I went on to ask him what's the big difference between sprint booster and blitz especially that blitz list price 420 compared to sprint that's almost if not 100 bucks cheaper.. But to his surprise he never heard of the product before... Need input from anyone running sprint booster........ Kinda like the idea of blitz thou 3 different modes sp1 sp2 & sp3.. Got to be a difference

I hear you, thanks for notifying me first.
I haven't heard anyone that got a sprint booster yet, but someone in the forum said he is going to get it soon.
so you gonna wait the blitz? or grab the sprint booster? sprint booster is like 250 bucks or something.

My thoughts exactly. It seems as if it just opens the throttle more for the amount of pedal you give it.

  • Sprint Booster does not increase Horsepower.
  • Sprint Booster does not reduce your 0-60mph times.
  • Sprint Booster DOES make your car ‘FEEL’ faster.
It appears you guys are correct. This just increases your pedal actuation earlier than OEM settings. Doesnt really effect performance whatsoever other than to make you "feel" you are going faster. In a supercharged car that already suffers from massive traction loss at WOT on take off....this would probably not be the best idea as it would make it somewhat harder to modulate the throttle properly. I am sure you could get the jist of it and work with it....but why relearn if its not going to actually make me faster. I could install a fan in front of my face if "feeling" faster was my only goal!

I still think its an interesting concept...but I am still not sold on its value for me.

Ken...

Dont the links in your signature pretty much confirm what we have said in this thead? What am I missing? I am intrigued by this product...but still am not sold on its merits. That line about "feeling" faster doesnt really do it for me. That goes about as far with me as the turbo blow off valve sound devices that make your car "sound" like it has a turbo...no offense. Just trying to understand the merits in my case and where it would actually do anything but reduce pedal travel to WOT. I dont want to just impress my friends who may drive the car and "think" its ultra fast because they just tap the peddal and are at WOT. WOT is WOT. A matter of fact...I could see the arguement that this is actually NOT a good thing as it does not make you any faster...you lose some throttle modulation to some degree...and might actually be considered a risk to some. Ever worried while driving one of those "ultra fast cars" that they are so jerky and uncontrollable due to over-horsepower and lack of available room to use it before you are out of street or lane from the car in front of you that you end up driving with your butt cheeks clenched about half the time hoping you dont run into the car in front of you just trying to move five feet forward in a traffic jam?

Dunno....just looking for you to sell me a little bit on the actual merits of this product. I still am not sold...but not really unsold either honestly...just confused as to where it would help other than "feeling" faster than you actually are? WOT is WOT....to get there..all you gotta do is cram the pedal to the floor? Wouldnt your product basically render some of the final pedal travel as useless as it would already be WOT due to the modified signal?
