And I've been reading and some say it is necesary to remove the bumper.. Is that True??

Not to threadjack but if you wanted a different solution, you can do the Weapon-R like I did:

You only need the bypass if you are planning on running through 2 foot puddle frequently

As far as Hydrolocking the motor with a CAI. You need to completely submerge the filter which is I feel is a difficult thing to do if you are careful where you drive.
I have had a CAI on every car I have owned and had not had a problem through rain and snow.

I installed my K&N Typhoon without bumper removal. I believe the AEM should not be any different.

From what I understand, the main difference between the two is that you can shorten the K&N and you cannot the AEM.

Good luck, Mark.

I did the AEM CAI, no bumper removal...if you're in Los Angeles( LA )?? no worries about the rain..Louisiana (LA)..well just don't try to drive on roads that if you were to walk across your knees would get wet, common sense amigo...

Agree totally. After reading one of your other posts I installed the Injen intake without bumper removal. Go in through the driver side wheel well. Everything you need will be right there once you remove the inner wheel well.

I recommend the Injen CAI or the AEM......I would stay away from the Weapon-R myself, just simply due to its design. Too short....still drawing hot air from the engine compartment.
