Really lookin for something on eBay. Which cheapie one do you guys use that bolts right up? I loaned out my bottle for my welder and it has not been returned or I would just make one myself.

Why even go through the trouble of a test pipe.
test pipes are OLD NEWS. like 2004 old.

replacing that cat only yielded about a 2hp gain.
LOL that shit sucks for the amount of money/time/whateverdafuq you are thinking.

instead, just go for an aftermarket jpipe that deletes the third cat.
this yields better gains for the amount of money/time/whateverdafuq you are thinking

^ go with this

butt since OP wants something cheap then just cut out the cat and weld on a pipe. There is no point in "Which cheapie one do you guys use that bolts right up" since you are trying to weld.

No. I'm not trying to weld. I'm looking at a used short tube jpipe but I want to install the test pipe at the same time.

I know all about jpipes and what kind of power they make, which is why I'm about to purchase one.

I'll rephrase. Which test pipe will bolt up to the short tube jpipe I'm about to buy?

^any test pipe that is fitted with the honda flange.
But it will be hard to find these because NO ONE SELLS THEM any more and NO ONE SELLS the jpipe that leaves the 3rd cat in place.

but if you havent bought that used jpipe yet, why not look into one of the greatest and latest jpipes available...
so then you wouldnt even have to mess with test pipes.
not to mention the older jpipes dont have the longer primaries for more power.

it just seems like a lot of work and money for squat gains, not to mention its hard to find the test pipes with the honda flange.

your easiest and best bet would be to pick up either the XLR8 V2 jpipe or the RV6 V3 jpipe which deletes the third cat, anyway.

The cat is small enough... if you really want no cat there take it off and go to town with a chisel/crowbar and a mallet. Or buy a newer J pipe.

You can still buy the ATLP V2 j pipe and/or test pipe from Heel Toe. The Excelerate V1 is still available as well, which also retains the third cat/test pipe. And Excelerate has a test/race pipe similar to the ATLP. It's all available on Heel Toe's site.

Listen to everyone, don't waste you time and just get a J that deletes the 3rd. Everyone telling you not to has already been down that road. If you're really stuck on it, get a resonated test pipe but I doubt you'll find one cause this mod like Justin said is old news

THANK YOU. Exactly what I needed. Great info. Wasn't sure if the older (pre 03) test pipes would work. I now know they don't. Thank you.
