Supercharging end of may
Supercharging end of may
Sorry this may sound stupid but my buddy drives an 06 and it's S/C he is selling his car and passing me the supercharger but i drive an 07 base w/ navi
I was wondering what would be the difference any difference in installation or parts plus is the battery worth putting in the back?
Plus I see a lot of CAI-S/Cs is that worth doing as well????

Nice you live in GTA =o
S/C should swap over fine...
Battery relocation should be good too. Give a little bit more weight to the rear end.
I believe the CAI on a s/c is more of a noise maker mod...

really no performance increase?
well to think of it, it's already force inducted that cheap cheap stuff it kinda useless
but it's probably easier air flow because it's a better Filter

There probably is an increase... if anything its like 1-3HP that you would barely notice.

Many of us bought cheap ebay intakes to make the custom CAI's since they need to be cut up. As far as power I think the CAI makes more like 10+ hp and the noise is worth it.

I bought a 98 accord intake from some no name company on Ebay and made about 3 cuts with a hack saw to make mine, $80 including the filter. You could use whatever brand you want, but since you cut it up no need to buy a $250 V2.
Full bolt ons meaning? Ebay CAI, would a throttle body spacer be included in there?, Precat deletes, J-pipe, test pipe, and catback? UR Pulley? and we're talking 350 at the wheel!? niiiiice!
That's why I held off on the CAI group buy... I hacked off my resonator instead!

so basically all you need is a pipe and filter strapped onto it and that's your cai/"noise maker"?

As far as this noise maker BS, the stock Comptect filter that comes with the supercharger kit sits within a shroud inside the engine compartment. The custom CAI atleast in my case sits within the bumper next to a fresh air vent. The heat of the blower especially with stock cats and a hot enviroment easily overcomes the shield around the stock air filter. The relocation of the filter to a cooler area adds power, but with an extra 100 hp it is hard to feel and not worth redynoing over.
The most noticable effect of the custom CAI is the sound, but to infer it is nothing more than a noise maker is stupid.
You know when you launch next to me that an ass whoopin is about to ensue and this is not your mom's TL.
I have ended many a race with just a rev.

^^^ lol niceee. what all mods do you have with your tl anyways besides the s/c? including meth or any/all gauges? tuning method? i'm still making a check list incase it goes down this summer >=]
You need some of the bends from the 98 accord CAI to make the filter sit nice and low in the bumper.

Noone has ever shown any gains adding a tube on a stick to the SC. There's a hole UNDER the Comptech intake that fresh air flows through...
If you do decide to get the supercharger, buy it first and have it installed before getting all the other parts. For me alot of the fun was feeling the changes in the car as I went from full stock to supercharged to Fire breathing meth injected terror on wheels.
It will help you learn how to drive a car with all the added power and gives your wallet a break. Dropping 10-12k all at once on the 35K car you just brought home can be scarry even if you can keep your wife in the dark.

Other than the blower I have the full ATLP exhaust including Pro-cats in place of the stock units. Gauge wise I have a digital AFR and boost gauge. I have my meth kit, but its not installed because I have not had the time.

No way our cars can be 350WHP on a supercharger and simple bolt ons. Our max with the S/C with pre-cat/3rd-cat deletes with catback exhaust and pulley and CAI would get no more than 310WHP, usually between 290-300 WHP. If it was 350WHP we're talking about at least 415 HP at the crank I can't believe that on a s/c and bolt ons, now maybe a turbo with some boost
