I think it must come with the kit. It would seem strange for a shop to have such a specific tool. You could also have a shop do that part if you are unsure.

the pressure reg crush tool is specd at an exact measurement, you crush it till the cap kisses the cylinder and can't go any further.....you can't just have someone make one, or crush it urself.. you may not crush it enough, or you may crush it too much....either way isn't good...i suspect he bought the kit used from someone else, and they may no longer have the tool...maybe CT can supply one? try calling, if you can't get someone in ur area...id let u borrow mine, im all the way in queens NY...ill check if i have it somewhere.

So so sad with all this technology, we still use caveman "tuning" technology. Seriously, crushing the regulator??? We stopped doing that in the '80s. Maybe you could crush your return fuel line while you're at it.

This isn't a dig at the OP, it's just amazing anyone supported this so called kit with their money.

i agree...this whole kit is as primitive as it gets....theres no return line on the tl, otherwise they'd probably included that too, as a part of the SC kit lol

crushing the fuel regulator increases fuel pressure, needed to support the extra air (boost).
you could install the SC, no problem, but once in boost, the ACM (the other primitive piece of equipment from CT) will try and open up injector pulse, meaning to supply more fuel needed, but there wouldn't be enough pressure supplied by the fuel pump to support that...so you end up with boost and not enough fuel, "LEAN"

yes crushing...way to go Comptech.....ya know, come to think of it, at least they sent a tool, and dont tell ya to fucking hammer the pressure regulator lol

^ so instead of crushing the regulator to get more pressure... the 'right' way should be to get a better fuel pump?

Aftermarket adjustable regulator and a guage. They're typically $50-$200 but I've never looked into one for the TL and it's returnless (thanks Opel) fuel system.
