Thank you. I knew someone with a racing background and knowledge could shed some light.

well obviously..but for that much of a difference..doesnt seem practical...
in my mind..lol

i mean, if i was really hardcore, i'd strip everything and have nothing but driver seat...now that is reduction...
but just doing simple small stuff....is it really worth it??

I removed the spare, owner's manual, spare lugs, floor mats and the rear headrests of my Accord, I noticed the car sits higher, 50lbs of weight reduction helps, believe it or not.

Next weight reduction for me is a lightweight CF battery, resonator deleted from the exhaust, and front plate/bracket delete.

Not sure if you want to do it w/ your TL (I wouldnt), but for some serious weight reduction and aside from what was already mentioned above, strip everything inside except for the driver seat (exchange it w/ a lighter one), change your hood and trunk lid w/ CF or fglass, replace all windows and windshields w/ lexan, remove power window motors and be on the jenny craig program while you're at it.

^ Even without the weight reduction, it still hauls ass. I wonder how it feels to be in a stripped TL.

Nice! There's something special about watching a mustang lose...especially to a TL! ...so many mustang drivers have that douche bag mentality...

Whats the best way to tune this? Is there really that much more power? I know it needs it because its like twice as fast if you go WOT when your already above 4K rpm as opposed to flooring it while you are under 4K. Then when you get over 4K it still doesnt feel as strong as when you start the pull at 4K+rpm. Does that make sense? plus that surging. Can it fix the surging?

to the OP... a j-pipe will DEFINITELY make a huge difference in your power/times IMHO.. on a f/i TL, i would expect 15+ whp... i gained 12whp on a N/A Type S 5AT.. also, pre-cat deletes.. should be worth another 15+whp.... 30whp, would probably = about .30 off your 1/4 mile
I have to see your car some day man. My friend got a 07 TL-S and he thinks 20" are the way to go. Show him your car so he learn

Just the first 60' of track after the starting beam. It's where 95% of races are won/lost.

Seems like alot of these newer Stangs aren't all that. There was an '08 6MT at the track trapping 98 mph to my 99. I won't hesitate to try one out on the highway now.

Ive gathered most of the parts I need for free but i just haven't got around to buying a 90 silicon tube for the final attachement to the intake. So it makes the whine a lot louder, what about the intake growl that seems to have gone away? Is that from the motor not working to suck air in, or is it from the actual intake that comes with the blower kit? I miss that growl when the vtec kicked in.

It's the time in seconds that it takes to get to the 60' mark. FWD cars on street tires typically pull 2.4-2.0. RWD and stock tires 2.1 to 1.8. My car pulls the left tire about 6" off the ground during a 1.5 on slicks. Full wheelie potential is in the 1.5 to 1.4 range.

A decently fast person can run with a FWD car on street tires to the 60'.

Nice!!!! I knew this car with a blower could get close to if not in the 12s. Good run man. I really wanted to go to the strip one more time while its cold but it never happened. I know I can pull low to mid 13's for sure. I just got a new clutch too. I hope the oem clutch doesn't slip with the boost. Ill let you guys know what happens after its broken in. Or has anyone used a fresh oem clutch with the blower and had it slip?

Forget the strip man get this car out on a road cours and really see its potential. Its not an ideal drag car for the obvisous reason thats its FWD.

I am actually going to Bmw driving school this weekend at Gateway (my uncle is an instructor) Its half of a nascar style oval track and the other half is in the middle of the oval. So half of a lap is on a banked turn where you can go pretty much as fast as your car will pull you. I cant wait to haul some serious ass and not get arrested for it! Im thinkin I can hit 120-140 on this banked turn havent been to this course yet, should be sick.

make sure you have a helmet but if you were to strip the Tl the weight inaccurate did, you would double the power of the S/C, so it would feel that the TL has nearly 500 HP at the crank
