I am a newb..I recently got an 04 Acura TL 6 speed. Im looking for performance mods.. exhaust, intake, maybe headers, coilovers if needed. I'm not looking for a loud exhaust something that grumbles & low. if anyone has suggestions on where to begin it would be appreciated!

Best starter mods in my opinion and based on experience: XLR8 V2 J-pipe, AEM V2 Cold Air Intake, XLR8 UR Lightweight Aluminum Pulley.

OP there is a sticky, which is the first thread in the performance section, that can give you ideas.

I dont know why newbies always miss those sticky threads?

Whatever your money can take your TL, visit our vendors site. Trustworthy and most of all, they'll guide you to their best products they have. Not to mention, if you ever want to tune, Hondata Flashpro will be our next stop. Right now, it's currently available for the 07-08, but it's been happened before and I'm sure we 04-06 will have a solution.
There's lots of guys around here that will assist you, we're enthusiast and you've come to the right place.

Depending on what state you live in, Hi-flow pre cats or pre cat delete pipes are a great addition. Once you have a full built exhaust from engine back, you will feel a drastic difference in power and will bring the TL back to life. Start with basic bolt ons and work your way from there.

The UR pulley is a great mod in addition to cat removals.

Heeltoe has most of all the great information you need to get the right parts for your needs.

Our dyno tests and videos will give you some great details on the power and sound differences in exhaust parts. We have consulted many people to TL-mod nirvana. Give me a call to learn basically all you need to know about modding your TL.

Just bought my 6sp 05 a few months ago. It was bone stock when I got it also. I have F&F coilovers I don't mind how stiff they are. also put on a RV6 J-pipe and a AEM intake I love it cause its still nice and quiet on the freeway and has some great butt dyno gains. Also did the aspec kit and some BBS wheels. By the way I'm in love with my car now. haha

xlr8 v2 jpipe shows the most gain, TQ wise. aem v2 intake and rv6 hfpc. a high flow metal cat flow as great as a testpipe just 18% restricted. great starter mods for you.

I would love the RV6 TD exhaust but the wait kind of sucks. But from what I've heard it's worth it. Looking at the atlp for my base tl at the moment

That dyno was highly suspect. We did our own testing and are finding it hard to definitively make any claims on the various j-pipes in terms of what makes how much power. All we can sort of lean on is ATLP is higher RPM power, RV6 is lower, and we expect XLR8 to be in the middle range.

Highly suspect? It was done by an independent shop and the dyno costs were paid for by a customer. There couldn't be a more neutral dyno.
