A-Spec Kit Question

My fellow TL'ers!

Im brand spanking new to this forum, and this is my very first post!
I just bought a brand new 2005 Acura TL WDP With Navi(AT, i know im not as cool as you ppl with MT ) and man what an awesome car! Bare with me and sorry for droning on...

Little bit about myself:
Name: Chris
Location: Hacienda Heights, CA
Age: 24

Enough with the Droning now down to buisness...

How much did you pay for your A-Spec Kit?
One of the dealers quoted me @ 7K for the entire package, thats a bit much cause when i checked ebay it was around 5k.. so thats kinda weird.

Do you think its worth getting upgrades and mods for a AT TL? I mean will i gain a decent amout of hp I know i would prob never go as fast as a MT but i would love to upgrade some of the parts.

Thanks in advanced!

you can get the aspec suspension parted out for about $700 with shipping.
- the bodykit i've seen parted out as well but price can't remember
- the rims same thing

with mods such as cai, exhaust, and for some a voltage stabilizer/grounding kit, most guys have been seeing a bump of at least 20-30 hp. do a search and you'll see.

personally, buying the aspec kit is way overpriced from the dealer and if you're somewhat handy and have the time, you can easily put the body kit and aspec suspension on yourself. for some, the aspec suspension drop is not enough, so guys have either been going with new springs only, or new springs/adjustable shocks combo, or new complete coilovers where the springs and shocks were made to perform together with different levels of adjustment (search on tein basics or tein ss) to achieve better suspension performance and get the drop they're looking for.

if you still like the 18 acura aspec rims, go get those or go aftermarket and perhaps bump up to 19's or higher if you like.

If you wanna go fast, get the springs, intake, better brake pads, AND a tranny cooler. It will save you a lot in the long run.

Body kit looks awesome (car looks funny without it); suspension is a must ($600 plus shipping from A of E's eBay store); wheels, steering wheel, type of spoiler, brakes are personal preference (ie. not necessary in my opinion).

$7k is ridiculous...my dealer only charges $5k...with a little time, effort, and good communication, you can part it together from eBay for less than that (most of your savings will come from self install).

Now, as much as I love the ASPEC body kit and suspension, I will say that there are other options out there for suspensions and kits, as well as brakes, and wheels. Beyond that, there are quite a few options for other mods as others have mentioned...just figure out what it is that you want to do, then do your research...all the info you need is here somewhere.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new car (WDP is the best, by the way, and us folks with AT are just as cool...don't let those MT guys fool you).

^ Good advice. Look on eBay for Acura dealerships like Acura of Escondido and Falconi Acura.

I have AT with full A-spec, only paid 5k and it's worth every penny. Regular TL's are a dime a dozen, the body kit sets it off. If you do nothing else get the suspension kit and 18's.
