silencer and resonator
silencer and resonator
i removed my silencer and resonator. however, i cant seem to remember how to get it back iin because my performance is going way down. does anyone know if the dealership would put it back in if i paid them or do i have to go to a independent car shop. thanks
I'm assuming those are apart of the oem air system? I think there are some diagrams on here that will show how they all fit together. Take your front bumper off if you havent already, opens things up a little bit. I'm sure an ind. shop will be able to take care of it if you can get a better hourly than your dealer.
the exhaust resonator? i was actually talking to a friend about removing it. the performance decreases?? man...that's not worth it for the throaty sound. oh btw, what does it sound like? does it sound gross? or is it better?
He is talking about the intake. I seen another of his threads, so that is how I know.
GICHOE,
*IF* you do decide to take it to the dealer, be sure to have a good story ready. You could say something like you were trying to change the air filter and you disconnected this stuff in error while trying to change the air filter. Do NOT let them know that you were trying to improve performance.

at first the sound was awesome. real throaty. but after about a week, it started hissing everytime i got on the gas. also, i live in oklahoma so its really hot here and it doesnt help that the intake is pulling in air directly from the hot engine..... now that i think about it.....i wish i didnt take it out.
