Angry S/c Help!

I just bought and installed the supercharger kit. I have a 05 acura TL Automatic. I went to the dyno and im getting 230-240 WHP and im boosting 2-3 sometimes it hits 4! We thought it was the ACM so we returned it and got a new one. SAME THING!
i spent around $80 in fual in the last 3-4 days! Please someone help! So far i paid $4,000+ for the s/c whine

fuel problem.. check the A/F ratio before you blow the motor.. might be the issue.. fuel pressure regulator problem or maybe an injector.. a couple of us have had these issues

What were your A/F ratios? Maybe they crushed the FPR too much and you're running too ruch. Too much fuel will also cause you to lose power.

Your boost seems around right. I ususally get 2-3 psi sometimes it goes almost to 4. I have the same exact car and I dynoed at 294 and 249 ft lbs of trq. See about the FPR. It seems like that could be an issue.

I think we only get about 3-4 and not 4 all the time is due to our pro-cats with better air flow.

PM Ryan97812 and tell him your problem(s).......... it sounds like the FPR but then again we can't see what's wrong by posting on the forum. Ryan might be able to help you

This bring me to thank Ryan again for his perfect installation. I thank you again!!!

I would go over everything and recheck the wiring. make sure you have everythin hooked up correctly. if you need a FPR, I have one at home and I will sell it to you for 50$ including new seal and cap for fuel pump. I would make sure your belt is tight and not slipping. double check you soldering, it sounds like you engine is retarding the timing because its not expecting the boost. check to make sure you solders are good.

also, do you have any noticable symtoms? does your car die out up top? do you have a rought idle? anything? It might be a long shot but I would check your injectors. i was having a similar issue. three of my injectors wer stuck open and the car weas running rich as hell and i was losing alot of power up top. just a thought but I would definatley check it out. Just let us know if you have any symptoms. by the way, Comptech is usless as far as trouble shooting. when i called them, they basically told me that Im on my own. so dont bother.

Some more info, cant see a/f ratios numbers, any running problems, what kind of gas, octane, give some more details kinda vague just "help" What other mods due you have? aftermarket wheels? You didnt try to gap the plugs that came with the kit did you? No CEL on right? Give some more specifics

The dotted line is 12.0. You look like you are running way too rich. Maybe crushed the FPR too much.

Still having problem... hmmm...

boy I thought I have the lowest boosted TL on this forum.. since I didn't add any additional mods (AEM intake mod, Pro-cats, water/meth, crank pulley) and still getting 278.5whp and 232TQ....

but your dyno here
http://www.arizona-hazards.com/white...s/IMG_2843.jpg

doesn't seem too bad.......

that was my first run after that it drops.

i have no mods to my car only the s/c. My wheels came with the car. the FPR is the factory one, it pre-crushed. i use 93 octane gas. what do you mean by gaping the plugs? also whats CEL? lol im new to this car hooking up thing.

Gapping the plugs meaning did you check the gap between the electrode and the tip also CEL means check engine light. If you dont have a cat back exhaust then dont look for too much more power. Comptechs figures are with its exhaust. You didnt over oil the air filter did you? You should have used about half a can no more.

at 266whp and 215TQ with nothing but a S/C bolt on seemed right....
Comptech Exhaust adds about 12.5 addtional hp at the wheel making it 278.5(mine) seems reasonable. But after looking at the chart again, I realized your second pull dropped to 233whp and TQ went back to nearly stock numbers at 190lb-TQ.......

Perhaps your car is running way too rich? I will suggest you find a tuning shop or someone who knows how to work on Comptech blowers to take a good look at it....
When I had mine dyno'd, the numbers were right near each other... difference in perhaps 1~2whp....

thats the surge that everyone has. It maybe a little mroe noticable in your car due to your situation. Honestly it sound like you are having the same problem that I had. Why dont you check your fuel pressure. check it at idle and while increasing throttle. When i checked mine. my pressure would drop dramtically because 3 of my injectors were stuck open!

Here are the things I would check.

From the look of your dyno sheet I would think 2 things.
A. The dynopack software was not adjusted to smooth out the shakes
B. If that is really how your engine is performing then it looks like an ignition problem to me. Check your static timing. I had the same issue when I had a turbo Integra Type R.

Also the fuel is really rich which could be soaking your plugs if they aren't gapped properly.

Usually for small amounts of boost you want a gap of between .028 - .030. Gapping of the spark plugs allows the spark to actually fire. If you have too wide of a gap your boost can blow out the spark.

Running that rich and also having stock cats can clog them. This can cause severe exhaust backup and loss of power. For any boosted application eliminating catalytic converters is the easiest way to gain power.

I just got my TL so I am still learning about the mods but if there is an EMS solution look into that. Running a FMU as a fuel solution is totally retarded. I blew up a motor doing that, of course this was turbo and 400whp

Good luck.

hmm..i was looking on AEM's website and I don't see any fuel controller with blue LEDs...lol.......I hope the guy didn't order you a AEM fuel pressure regulator as none of them would work with our TL because we have a returnless fuel system.

From what you describe it seems like you got a wideband gauge to read your A/F ratios. It will not control your fuel. It will just read it.

it has knobs on it so you could lean out the fuel for each gear.

and no i have not fix the problem yet hopefully this controller will work!
