RV6 V3 Jpipe & PCD Combo OR HFPC & Jpipe?
#2
BUUUT.. to answer your question, if you don't mind rasp and exhaust smell then go with the PCDs, if you do mind those things, go with the HFPCs.

I hope you realize there was supposed to be some humor in my statement, but this subject has been covered extensively! As SharksBreath said, you can weld in the resy, but the smell will apparently always be there. It seems that some people don't mind the PCDs but some others wish they went with the HFPCs.

Here is one of my videos with the RV-6 HFPC/V3 J-Pipe set up.

I was to nervous when it came to the rasp/smell issue so I decided to play it safe. For me, this combo was great. I have to ask if money is an issue because the PCD's are cheaper. Although they are cheaper, they do add a bit more power. I guess it is just personal preference

i heard if u want to get PCD w/o all the draw backs just add a resonator and it should be ok. Im going save $ and try to get into richie's 2nd batch of TD and get the complete exhaust (V3 PCD, V3 Jpipe, type S TD). Hopefully i can save enough to get it by the end of this summer

When I first got the PCD's installed, I took a video of a fly by with my new camera.
it replays fine on the camera, but when i transfer it to a computer, there is no sound.
the camera is a Nikon D7000.
I might be going to the track tomorrow night.
praying for a 13.2!!!!
I'll see if I can get some recordings tomorrow, with a friends HDFLIP.

first time at the track.
MIGHT. havent committed fully.
about a year ago, my pops gave me his Chally srt8 for a month. I raced a couple of my friends in Evo's and STI's.
I got a text last night from one of the EVO's asking if i wanted to go to the track tomorrow.
we'll see. As I hate my fucking clutch and its a stupid piece of shiet.
Everyone on this board whom have posted up their 1/4 times and traps, always have low ass trap times...

shoot for a good trap. trap speed is what tells your power. and how do you get a great trap?
you say "fuck the 60ft, i'm street launching" and then you don't need to worry about anything!
shoot for like a 1.9 60' and you'll be fine.

Morrissey25, was this before you installed the full exhaust? Tnx.
Also, as far as the power, Rich guesses 3-5 hp less w/HFPC's, not enough to notice a difference from PCD's, if you were to switch from one to the other.
I ordered the same setup as you and they are on their way tomorrow.WOOOOT!!!!!

BostonSilverTypeS has the PCD, J-pipe, and TD exhaust and honestly... the two different setups sound almost identical. So either way, a full RV-6 setup with PCD or HFPC's is a win win way to go

That video was before the TD install. I am super happy with the combo that I have and I don't think that I would ever change to the V3 PCD's being that I probably wouldn't even be able to feel the difference anyway.

To the OP, like Morrissey said, with either setup you can't go wrong. If it comes down to saving a couple hunnit $$, go with the PCD's.
