^your cell count is now much lower at 200 so that's a possibility. the rasp was so bad when I installed my pcds (zero cell count)...that I had to install a resonator on my XLR8 quads. magnaflow 10426 and it was a night and day difference. exhaust tone is perfect now, still stupid loud on cold starts but it calms down quickly.
I may even install a fatter/longer resonator to quiet it down more...I've set off car alarms on a few occasions. funny, but scary.

^yeah it's all trial and error, J. you know that...
my exhaust is by no means annoying at this point, I'd just like it a little quieter and if a $50 resonator will do that for me then I think it's worth it yanno? I'm looking at a few different models I can weld in to get the sound I want.

I say go for it. by far the best power adder I've done yet.
J&R ECU might change that tho...![Too Cool](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/toocool.gif)
it's a V1 that came non resonated from the start. I also love xlr8's exhaust...exotic sound is right on point. love when the car downshifts...VROOOOM!!! <-that's the best I can do![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)

kingkong_dav, your opinion is NOT based on personal experience and is un-substantiated. If you have an opinion about Ritchie's products based on the reports of others, fine, post that.
BUT do NOT continue to slag a vendor/product/member without supporting evidence and do NOT drag legitimate threads off topic. Say your piece and move on.
Consider that a warning.
I'd like to thank SharksBreath, rockstar143 and others who have tried to put the thread back on track. Let's keep it that way, otherwise, it'll get locked.

^^^ hahaha when i read the first page i was like this dude is gonna get banned....
I wanna +1 Richie's products....been using the PCD's for more than a year (close to 2, to think about it) without a SINGLE problem....i recently contacted Rich via email for some help with my exhaust (custom) which wasnt bought from him and this guy actually replied and helped me out !!!
GREAT GUY.....GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.....GREAT PRODUCTS.....
Jer, I completely agree with Aaron....exhaust is more of a trial and error....key is to find a shop which does decent work for a decent price....otherwise its gonna dry your pockets very very quick !!!
PCD's are the best bang for the buck !!! honestly....you might feel your car is quick enough until you install this thing !!!
the ECU and PCD's you looking at what ~40whp....dude its like all the performance mods you have done prolly dont add up to these 2 mods... (statement might seem like a personal attack but its not
)
yes PCD's do bring in some rasp....but its only over certain rpms....not in the full range....

Yeah, it's all relative, obviously. That's why a lot of dudes sink all this money into going full bolt on, then supercharger, then turbo, then....then....TRADE the car in for something with RWD or AWD.
I've been trying to get over 20mpg lately anyways so I've been driving very chill. I don't take that as a personal attack at all...the majority of my mod money has gone to looks...the stage III was cheap and was for sound...and the jpipe was because I was curious and I drank the coolaid. It definitely felt like it made a difference and made the car feel faster when I installed it...but now I'm just used to it. So I could spend another $450 and have PCD's and be in the same boat a couple of months from now...USED to how fast it drives.
I'm happy with it now. Personally, the tradeoff between my butt dyno being excited and having to deal with ANY additional rasp, isn't worth it.![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Anyway, that said, and to get back on topic (thanks for keeping it on track Bear) I do hope this thread does end up shedding light on this flex pipe, which seems to be a weak point for all the jpipes.

I thought they were...maybe 350 then? I thought the V3's were a lot. Guess not...I did say that if there was a black market sale from someone parting, I'd probably think about it.
I can't take too much more butthurt...especially on your account.

I have a slight rattle at start up. Maybe its cause I don't have the hanger installed. Not sure. What really bothers me is the Rasp. I will probably sell my j-pipe once the new ATLP j-pipe comes out.

I might have it figured out. We got some nasty rattling after installing PCDs on our prototype exhaust. Turns out there is 2-3 degrees of side to side play in the precats which equates to ~3/8" per side per precat.
The problem come when both the precats are bolted down whole pointed towards the center. This pushes the 2 tube from the V3 jpipe together until they touch. Normally this is fine but when you have a exhaust that vibrates a lot it causes the 2 pipes to bang off each other.
The solution is to loosen up the connections between the jpipe and precat and precat to block. Then find something to push the 2 pipes apart, I used some folded up cardboard. While the pipes are separated tighten everything down.
All our V3 jpipes are checked on a jig to ensure everything is to spec. With so much slop in the stock pieces from honda the V3 jpipe can be easily pushed out of spec.
I will document this more when I have time and start a new post.

a piece of cardboard? i know the exhaust gets hot enough to melt the plastic splash guard. so why wouldnt cardboard burn up? also couldnt you just header wrap both the pre-cats and jpipe. this way wouldnt it separate the jpipe from hitting each other because the wrap would hit against each other instead of the metal pieces hitting each other, and also keep temperatures down as a bonus? just a thought..

^^^ couple wrong things in your post bro....
1> wrap does not keep the temp down....it keeps the temp higher so that exhaust pulses can escape quicker....remember, hot gases carry higher velocity than cooler gas/air....
2> he just want your to put cardboard to separate the pipe, tighten everything and then remove the cardboard and tighten the Jpipe to PCD and PCD to header location....if you leave things loose, you will hear rattles....

*MOD EDIT**
yup. the innovator of the product came up with an easy solution to fix a minor issue that some customers experienced.
richie, i had actually already done this when i installed my pcd's and jpipe. i noticed the sections were closer together than i thought was acceptable.
i used cardboard too.

Oh boy...
Sharksbreath...me too...but I used a tampon. Is that normal?
Figured that way, if my jpipe rattled OR bled, it would solve the problem.
In all seriousness...I did overtorque one bolt and went to lowes to pick up some grade 8 nuts/washers/bolts to SUPER tighten everything down. I have to look again and see if they are touching.

I have deleted 8 posts most of which consisted of posts from kingkong_dav. I strongly suggest that you leave this thread kingkong_dav if you have nothing to add other than a troll post. You have been warned previously by Bearcat94.
EDIT- if you would like to discuss this further, PM me or any of the other mods and do not clutter up this thread.

do what we suggested (incredibly easy task) and you won't have any sound.
it's not coming from the flex area, that's just misinformation that gets spread and people believe it bc it's on a forum.

you hand tighten everything....and once everything is in place, you torque em down....
remember how you put rims on ??? you dont tighten as you go, you hand tighten all the lug nuts and then revisit each one in a pattern....with the exhaust Rich just mentioned a pattern....
I personally only have 1 RV6 product which is the PCD's and i vouch for them....i think they are awesome....he know's what he is doing....if i didnt have to "go custom" exhaust itch, I would have been rocking the RV6 Quad or the XLR8 quad or the ATLP quad....shit cant decide LOL

let me clarify the sound it's making. On throttle it make a whistle sound or vacuum leak sound. My mechanic installed it we had it on the hoist me inside the car and him underneath the car. She said its coming from the flex pipe, There is no leak everything is bolted properly. Its no big deal the j pipe is awesome.

^^^along the way, sounds like we may all be talking about about a couple of small and different issues. One with flex, the other with the pipes touching. I don't have the PCD's so maybe I wouldn't even have this issue.
Kingkong...after all you've said about Richie products, I find it hard to believe you're not doing more trolling with that last post. Although I'd love it if you actually bought it and dealt with Richie yourself and THEN formed and opinion and see if you still feel the same way.
