RV6 V3 J-Pipe and Exhaust wrap
I hope I don't get scowled for creating a new thread. If you guys don't approve then I will try deleting it. I wanted to inform all RV6 V3 J-Pipe users that are considering exhaust wrap, DO NOT DO IT! I spent hours of my time putting on DEI Titanium Wrap and it turned out gorgeous... Now for the issues. The V3 J-Pipe's design will rip that wrap apart on the first drive! Sure I will note that I felt as though my car was running better with it on but only if it stayed on. Not shown in the pictures but I had clamps and the DEI straps on. Two DEI straps on each flex pipe, one on each side before the diameter goes smaller. Clamps on the outsides of the flex pipe where the regular piping is and also at the ends of course. I clamped it up as much as I could hoping I wouldn't run into any problems but it is inevitable. Besides still having clearance issues (I'm on a stock suspension) if you guys look at the first pic you'll see how close the flex pipes are to the piping. After adding the wrap they end up in contact. Vibration will tear the wrap up! If you guys un install your j-pipe's to inspect them you will already see abrasion from the flex pipe being so close due to vibration. I can only hope and pray that a V4 will come out. I believe that if the flex pipes were moved further away from the merge, the flex pipes would be more on point to the j series engine rock or pivot point fixing all clearance issues for good! There's also still about an inch gap between the j-pipe and the engine/sub frame, I believe if it were half an inch closer we would still be safe. This is my first true thread besides from noob questions back in the day so I hope you guys take it in or take it easy on me.

Like the gentlemen before me stated, the flex pipe is there so that the pipe can flex.
Anx and 350, from the way you both replied, I would assume that it wouldnt help as much as we think it does, however does it "muffle" or "deaden" the sound?
let me rephrase, would it make the exhaust note deeper?

It could have been in my head, but after the car was all warmed up, I felt like it ran better than before. Yea, I was thinking about doing that also but you would have to stop the wrap where each flex begins. I mean leaving 4-5 inches of pipe exposed so the opposite flex can't even touch it. I mostly did it hoping to get rid of some rasp but I had no luck.
