^ABP, are you planning on cutting and running straight pipe from the test pipe back? I've done this on every car I've owned but I think I want to check for the dreaded 'rasp' after installing pre's/j-pipe/resonated test pipe to stock after exhaust.

^ I ran precat deletes, j pipe, race pipe, CT exhaust. Pretty raspy in uber cold weather when revving in P/N. Tone was much deeper in warmer weather. Threw in a high flow cat and some of the rasp went away.

naw I'm not planning on runnin a straight pipe for my test pipe, I'll prolly get alot of rasp if I do dat. Maybe a high flow cat would be a better idea.

I also just received my Richie jpipe hiss free will install it tomorrow

Is the installation (precat-jpipe-3rdcat delete) fairly DIY-able?

Just got back from the exhaust shop....J-pipe and test pipe installed....it took 6 weeks from the time I ordered but it was worth the wait.

Sounds better, feels faster....totally worth the 360 dollars.

Great product from a great guy...thanks Rich

RV-6 J-Pipe/Test Pipe combo is saweeeet!

My RV-6 J-Pipe/Test Pipe combo is installed ... quick and easy in about 1.5 hours(would've been less but I had one stubborn nut on the stock pre-cat ). As stated before, the fit and finish are top-notch and the car now has a nice "throaty" exhaust note, even with my stock cat-back. Thanks again Rich ... nice job on a quality product

BTW ... for those that say the RV-6 J-Pipe is not an equal length J-Pipe ... BS! Measured both front and back tubes to the center of the collector, in multiple places around the diameter of both tubes and ALL measurements were within 1/8" of each other. Considering how difficult it is to get a hyper-accurate measurement in this scenario, that's as equal length as it gets!

I didn't install them ... just did the J-Pipe and it was gravy. I looked at what it would take to do the pre-cats when I had the exhaust removed and it looked like a bitch! Not much room to work up there, especially at the rear bank.

just got my jpipe and test pipe installed yesterday and i must say that i'm very dissappointed i dont feel the push or rush like everyone has stated, although i dont have any other mods i was still hoping for something it just feels like stock to me, i hope this doesnt discourage other members from buying it though it still looks very sexy down there. i also have a vid of the installation and would like to post it but dont know how still a noob to this forum.

Did you reset the ECU? It takes a little while for the ECU to adjust to the mods and give you more gains. Most people feel more of a gain after resetting the ECU.

I'm pretty sure you dont see a lot of gains because you still have stock exhaust, so the jpipe and test wont see its full potential...

Correct Aziners?

Well your not gunna feel a huge difference.. Its just the Jpipe & test pipe.. But from what I hear you should reset your ECU..

There is a better way to do this by pulling a fuse but I just unplug the battery for about a min then plug it back in.. That should do the trick.. Make sure you have all your radio codes though.. or else you will be enjoying the sound of that Jpipe all the way to the dealer..

Have you driven the car at wide open throttle for any duration of time or are you just cruising at 2-3k rpm? You will notice a fairly significant pull at ~4-7k rpm. Pedal to the floor and you'll definitely notice a difference (in your gas mileage as well ). At lower rpms it does feel exactly like stock. If you add a cold air intake & exhaust you'll notice even more of a pull through the 4-7k rpm range.

This week I will be installing the precats, jpipe, race pipe, greddy evo2, aem v2, and ur crank pulley. I will definitely make a thread with all the before and afters. And tell you how hard the precats were to do

I forgot FedEx doesn't deliver saturdays unless its expedited i think. Its been "On FedEx vehicle for delivery" since 4:20am

Wow ... you are going all out in one shot . Let us know how the pre-cat install goes ... everything else looks cake(besides getting the nut off for the UR pulley ... bring your "A" game and a long breaker I hear ) Good luck with your mods

FedEx delivered mine on Saturday? Keep your fingers crossed bro ... they might surprise you with a gift today

Yup, almost all performance wise parts in 1 shot so I can really feel the difference, plus I will be dyno'ing after the install. I figure I will be around 290-295whp. Blackura has 293, but he also has a 3rd cat

Yeah, its going to be a fun day(or days). I figure about 8-10 hours to install everything.

Honestly I kinda hate the tracking, its like a tease lol. The RV6 stuff and the ur pulley is already in my town at fedex and ups, but the exhaust will be here hopefully tuesday, latest wednesday, so install probably thursday/friday, or friday/saturday.

Hope it all goes well for you ... and totally agree about tracking; nice to know when it's supposed to arrive but it makes it seem that much longer until it finally does. Regardless, your car is going to run WELL!

well i must admit 2000-3000 rpm is where i'm at most of the time i thought that there would still be a difference in regular driving, i will floor it the next time i get out on I95

Doing mine now, as we speak ... make sure you have your radio and Navi codes beforehand. If not, there is another way to reset the ECU by pulling fuses #8 & 19 out(engine compartment fuse panel, not interior panel) OR you can try csmeance's reset by keying to "stall" position, all accessories turned off(ie;A/C, radio, etc)and depressing the accelerator all the way to the floor for 30-45 secs., shut ign. off, then start car. These methods are listed in detail if you search the Performance Parts & Modifications forum and search keywords "resetting ecu". Good luck with the project

Yep, there's your problem then. Even more so than resetting your ECU. If you cruise at 2-3k rpm with full mods (cai, pre-cat deletes, test pipe, j-pipe, exhaust, pulley, etc..) you will hardly notice a difference in performance at all. You may notice some sound difference coming from your CAI and exhaust, however to really utilize and "feel" those mods, you need to have a lead foot . Get on the gas a bit, especially after each mod you do, and you'll definitely realize the gains. If you look at any of the dynos for these upgrades, you'll see very easily the power gains are definitely seen in the 4-6500ish rpm range.

you still get very respectable numbers with a stock exhaust. Got my pre-cat/j-pipe/test pipe combo yesterday. I'll be installing full package to stock exhaust - might straight pipe mid muffler if it's not too loud - and that's mainly because I really like the stock tips and was never hot on the grapefruit shooter options, or cutting bumper for the TL-S style. Now that ATLP is coming out with the modded OEM tip look, this might all change...shite! I don't think I can hide a grand from the wif.

Since resetting the ECU yesterday, the gains are even more recognizable. The car pulls noticeably harder from 3700-6500 rpm. "Seat of the pants" dyno is impressed
