Nothing to it but to do it! You won't regret it! It will make you love your TL-S even more. I installed this on my car recently and love it! Absolutely no cons to it!

There is practically none with the HFPCs you have 2 high flow converters so it doesnt really matter that you delete the 3 cat.

Seriously thinking about this. I have partial funds in my Paypal account, but never used Google checkout. Any way to use google checkout with paypal funds? Probably wishful thinking.

no sniffer test on the late models (this means our cars), only the plug in test.

i'm still wondering about the visual inspection though for the 3rd cat or a visual inspection in general. i read on the emissions site that a visual is done, but how extensive (ie check for 3rd cat- like if done at dealer, or just to make sure there are no rust spots and leaks?).

i'm tempted at this...but the emissions visual inspection and recent expenses are holding me back from buying mods for the TL, right now. perhaps another holiday sale later in the year? or i'll get one for my MDX instead if its still in development.

I must be the only one on here that actually appreciates the ULEV rating of the TL

I want this bad, but don't want to lose my 3rd cat.

How many of you have done JUST the j pipe? Seems like most of you guys have other exhaust stuff done. Just curious if the j pipe with stock everything else makes much of a sound difference.
All the videos I've seen have been without cats, or a resonator, or a catback system.

^jpipe only:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTifsJrqcaE

sounds DEEPER but not any louder.
Then at WOT, you hear the sound of air rushing through. kind of like what a cold air intake sounds like. but its not really loud.
radio off and windows down, you can hear the rushing sound.
radio at about 15, you cant hear a thing.

Also, my passengers never knew I installed a jpipe.
it sounded stock to them because of the sea of G35s and Z's and their exhaust note.

You will enjoy the power and sound.

Need some clarification as never modified car but entertaining doing so as ext warranty is now expired. Based upon many viewpoints here, the first modification recommendation is a new jpipe. So will your j pipe:
1. Fit without deleting any oem parts (other than oem pipe)?
2. What kind of hp gain would you expect?

Around $45 with USPS Priority they usually have very reasonable duty and brokerage fees.

1. Yes you will be removing the 3rd cat which has no sensors. The car will never know it is missing.

2. We gained around 12WHP with a 05 Base auto TL. It really depends on engine, tranny and what dyno you go to.

Will there be any bigger piping than this? Possible 2.75 or 3" or is it not good with this 7K and V6 mod? Only reason I ask is the K20 2.0L loves the 3inch mod but the RPM is 8K and makes the most power. Also, with our compression the same as the K20 guys but with single cams, would a 3inch j-pipe be worth it?

Wow, seems as though a lot of us bought one. I can't wait to put it in. I got under the car last night and loosend all the nuts and sprayed them with lube so they will come off easy when the pipe shows up

Hopefully you tightened them back up. That's a good idea, and I shall follow suit so when the install day comes it goes smoothly.

If you notice, the K powered cars use a 3" catback, not header. If their header were 3", they would surely lose power. Their primaries are much smaller than the exhaust diameter, as are ours. The 2.25" primaries help keep exhaust velocity up, and therefore would be much more beneficial for keeping your low end torque.

Well good news about hurricane, look like its gonna miss and it will be just super windy tomorrow. So shouldnt be any delays... The weather has been rainy every day, with some heavy thunder and bright light. The moment i get mines tomorrow im going to install, i know that "cant wait to install feeling" lol
