RV6 Precat Deletes V1?

Ok so I'm ready get the deletes, because I know my procats won't last anyway. And I don't want to go back to stock cats.

I found a good deal on a used V1 still in good shape. I have read all the threads about these, but haven't really found a definite answer. Eventhough there have been issues, is this ok to get the V1? I have all three Innovative motor mounts and RV6 J-pipe; is there a reason why this setup will cause to V1 to fail? Or should I just wait till more V2's are available and pay an extra hundred bucks? Thanks!

2nd that. I don't think they were recommended with the Innovative Mounts. I'm a member of the V1 cracked weld club.

Thanks for the feedback. I got some more info from the seller, and I also talked to Richie. The seller did have his deletes replaced with better ones. Also Richie said all I need is updated O2 similators.

Can wait to get these!

Thanks Jason! You forget, I'm in the military also. I would definitely appreciate an experienced hand at this. I have the procats in minus the heatshields, so the install should be alot smoother. I will let you know when I get these in.

Honestly, the V1's are fine; they won't break with the average driver (easy pushing, no motor mounts, not lowered). It really does depend though. Richie and I weren't really able to figure out what exactly was the cause of the rear pre-cat breaking, but it seemed consistent among other members as well: they just don't go well together with innovative motor mounts, no matter how stiff. I have the original V1 for my front pre-cat delete, and a V2 in the rear. Thus far, the V1 in the front is fine. That little bit of extra metal in the welding in the V2 is holding up fine; it's just what it needed. It makes sense though...the IM mount supposedly (although others disagree) lift the engine up a little bit, ultimately changing the stress points, and heavily weighing into the rear pre-cat. Beyond them, you have the flex in the J-pipe, which explains why those haven't been a problem. Just save up and get the V2's. I run my car SUPER hard, and the V2 in the rear has yet to break. I've gone through 3 sets (just the rears). Still have original V2.

Hope that helps

PS The new elbows that come with the V2s are a PAIN to install, but they work flawlessly. BUY the O2 sensor socket if you plan to do it yourself.

^^Trust me; this is why I talked to Richie before hand. He said they should be good since they were recently replaced already. All I needed was the newer similators. I will have the socket prior to install.

my rear V1 broke and I have stock motor mounts; mild drop (H&R) with Koni's. Mine were just an oops.

Just FYI, I believe I have a cracked rear V2 on my car now. No drop, no mounts, ATLP J-Pipe.

I'm starting to think the deletes are a bad combo for ATLP J-pipes.

I'm really wondering why flex tubing isn't put in place on these pipes.

I could be thinking of something else, but I *thought* I remembered seeing pipes for the accord that had flex tubing on them.

I realize it's probably for cost reasons, but I'd gladly pay a premium to have them on there instead of dealing with taking it off and having it replaced. Not the best way to spend an afternoon IMO.

Got'em Installed!

I have been rolling on these for a week now and love em! Definitely an increase from my procats. I had a little more torque down low with the cats, but does not effect my drivability what so ever. My top end is crazy though! The drone is a little louder, but not annoyingly loud. It does have a distinctive sound around 3k rpms that I like as well.

Unfortunately I found out that I have a leak at the flex section of my j-pipe. So time for a new one; hopefully I can find a nice used ATLP or XLR8. I might not feel the full effect of these, but they are great so far!
