What is the purpose of the large bolt in these pictures? The one just to the right of the triangle gaskets. I bought some HFPCs used and have everything but that bolt, and it doesn't appear to install onto the HFPCs anywhere by looking at them. Also what kind of lubricant is that and where is it applied? Thanks!
There is a small bolt hole just about the lower flange on the right hfpc in the picture. It's a mounting point that mates to your car. Just ask Richie what bolt it is or how much it would be to buy one from him. He's very responsive and helpful
The lubricant is probably anti seize for your bolts. And it goes on your bolt threads and does exactly what the name implies.
Thanks sockr1, I just re-used the old one, although I did go to the local hardware store and find another suitable bolt just in case.
I was worried it was vital to the function of the HFPCs.
The removal of the precats wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I was doing engine mounts at the same time and had extra room to play with. Pulled rear cat out right over the middle back spark plug.
