I don't think it's worth gutting your cats...
Any reason why you don't want RV6 PCD?

I wouldn't want to spend money on pre cat deletes they're too expensive. What if I cut out just where the cat is and weld a piece of pipe

You wont gain as much power as some truly custom PCDs or Richies PCDs. The piping is too small. You're better off actually making some custom ones or just buying Richies. they arent that expensive compared to the BS that may add up by not doing things right.

Sure, just slap some of this in there and clamp her up good.

Seriously though, what happens when you need to pass an emissions test or sell your car. Factory cats cost 2x as much as PCD's, so I wouldn't go cutting them apart.

You are looking at about $1000+ worth of cats you will be ruining. On another note if $300-$400 is too much for a mod than modding the TL is not for you. Parts are not cheap for luxury cars, especially performance parts.

^exactly.

parts are few and far between for the TL. we are lucky enough to have vendors like richie, heeltoe, xlr8 that specialize in making parts for us.

you should be grateful that these parts even exist, get over the price tag. everybody's gotta eat.

So when it comes time to sell your car, you're going to sell it without cats?

Agree with Hi-Speed. If 300-400 is to much to spend then moding your TL is not for you. Also you cant just smash them out and weld in a pipe. the bottom that bolts to the J-Pipe is round but the collector off of the head is not. Could work with the 3rd cat.

It's not our responsibility, you're right, but we can help a fellow AZine member out and let him know if we see anything that he may not.

try $2500 for headers on a MB e63, then atleast another $800 to install.

If you're not going to do it right the first time, then don't do it at all.

If you gut them you may get a small bit of power but not nearly enough to make it worth it! Do it right or dont do it at all!
