Question for all you HP freaks....
I own a 2008 type-s and am in need of some more power. Mods that I have done are a Injen CAI, ATLP J-pipe, and ATLP race-pipe. Could you guys help me out and give me some suggestions as to what direction to go in next.

Exhaust, Pully or Pre-Cat Deletes.

i got a typeS what opened it up was rv6 pre cats and 3rd cat delete, also pulley makes you gain some power.. and off course 3 inch exhaust... + your current mods right here you're looking at 265 whp or more..

Fully bolted on, Blackura was a few ponies shy of 300 to the wheels!
The pre-cats deletes add A LOT OF BUMP up top. But note that you'll lose a lot of low end torque from no longer bottle-necking; congrats, you'll have a true exhaust system! Aside from that...you have the option of UR Pulley, P2R spacers (eh...not THAT great), and some EXHAUUSSSTT!!!
edit: as pretty much what everyone else said...-_-

i have the stock catback with stage one, mid muff delete, jpipe, testpipe, and precats, after adding the precats i feel like i have gained some lowend, the stock catback helps retain some backpressure
op i would go with the precats, you cannot beat the hp increase for the money, sound is great, with your current set up it will work nicely

^ Especially if you have a WDP (White) TL.
The soot doesn't seem bad on my Anthracite (dark grey).
Regarding the compromises (smell and soot).... "Show" and "Go" have never been good bed fellows.

I have car ADD
iTrader: (6)
funniest thing ive read on here in like 3 months
I Did everything possible (at the time) to my 08 TL-S 5AT... I made 294whp (with a stock 3rd cat)... with the ATLP HFC, i was sure to be at 300whp
The dyno i used, DID read a little higher then some.. but it was still a great comparison tool for all my mods
ATLP Exhaust
ATLP J-Pipe
ATLP HFC
RV6 PreCats
P2R TB Spacer
AEM CAI
UR Ultra Sc Pulley
OE IM Gaskets
Precats, are the BOMB.... super increased horsepower, but EXTREME loss of low end torque.... a sacrifice WELL worth it, when your car is a SOHC VTEC engine.... my top-end was insane.. i couldnt believe i made the type-s THAT much faster.
but i did always have to hang around the higher RPM range, no problem when you know how to work the gradelogic transmission in Sport mode... thing was practically a 6psd

Please note that he had an aftermarket exhaust system (cat back). His aftermarket exhaust pipes and aftermarket rear mufflers flowed much better than the oem mufflers.
If a person keeps the oem pipes backward from the 3rd cat and keeps the oem resonator and oem mufflers (mid muffler delete is ok although), then a person will not suffer any loss of low end power. On the other hand, the top end will not be at it's full potential either.... compromises either way

how much of this stuff voids the warranty? How much do these mods cost? I would like to do some minimally invasive mods, but I am not a gear-head and want to make sure I do not void my warranty and extending 7yr100k warranty.
Is there a horsepower increase 101 seminar or something??

Search and Read, Search and Read.
Here is a start:

Also the 3G Garage is a great repository of informaiton:

For the most part, the same modification from two different vendors will give you similar gains/results (J-Pipes for example).
