let me be the first to ask: what the hell is a P2R spacer and what does it do? I assume its the metallic thing that clearly says P2R, but what exactly is it?

04+ Acura TL, TL-S Throttle Body Spacer with Throttle Body (TB) Thermal Gaskets

- Increase horsepower and torque with this 3/4 inch throttle body spacer.
- Tests on a 06 TL M/T[shown below] produced a 5.5 horsepower and almost 9 ft/lbs of tq gain at the wheels!
- P2R's spacer comes equipped with a 1/8th inch NPT threaded port at the bottom that can be used as an extra vacuum port or nitrous.

Did you have space issues with the AEM? I'm still contemplating on getting the P2R coz I don't know how much trouble I'm gonna get into since I have the AEM already in place. I heard it's a pain to put the two together.

Some adviced to cut the AEM by 1" using a band saw. I don't think I'm going that route.

Nice, good to see the spacer in. Did you install it yourself?

I just got my Fujita F5 in today, installing it tomorrow. Next is some HKS Hipower mufflers, midmuffer delete, and a Pulley . That's if my budget allows for it heh.

I know you're asking the OP, but I might as well throw my hat into the ring.

To tell you the truth, the TB spacer doesn't really show any noticeable differences with a stock airbox. Although I could be wrong, the results might be a little more noticeable with an aftermarket CAI.

Fyre Man: In layman's terms, it's a heat sink. It separates the hot engine from the cold air rushing in.

On a 06 TL M/T the spacer and gaskets got the customer 5.5 whp and 9 ft lbs of tq. I have heard nothing but positive reviews thus far. I mean 5 whp and 9 ft lbs of tq isn't going to throw you into your seat but it should be noticeable. Every little bit of hp and tq helps.

Did you also install intake gaskets? People reading this thread should realize that the performance gains stated were with both products.

Impressions of the P2R spacer after my Fujita F5 intake is installed:

I know the CAI is doing the majority of the work, but I definitely feel a noticeable difference. I love 5000rpm ~ pulls .

I already had the Outlaw intake manifold spacer. I switch the Outlaw TB spacer with the P2R one. I could feel a little difference, so I think it is worth the money.

I didn't have to cut a thing. You will just have to work it into place. It was a pain, but it will fit.

How much did this stuff cost? How much the Type-S throttle body cost? How big is difference between the Standard and new Throttle body?

You're right... I dont care that much. I saw the 11 page thread on spacers...

I figured that since you have the pictures and are proud of the 5.5 hp and 9 tq, it would add to the thread. If you where happy with the vendors you could tell me that Excelerate was really helpful and got you the throttle body as well.

Sorry to thread crap, but it bugs me when people tell me to search... Its not like I asked if you can supercharge your car... Or if there is a CAI that fits the TL... I know I'm gunna catch crap.. In the time you said search you could have said TB was 290 bux (i dunno), not a big difference between the two, and the spacer was 120.

Thanks for your help.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but yes.

$4500 later you can add an UNBELIEVABLE 70HP? TO THE WHEELS.

Although, it sure makes a big difference .

No, the IM gasket hasn't even been manufactured yet. So the dyno graph is for the throttle body spacer and throttle body gaskets alone.

You don't need the TL-S TB. This will work with all 04+ TL and TL-S throttle bodies. It is $120 shipped for the TB spacer and two TB gaskets.

It comes with 2 x white plastic gaskets on both sides of the P2R spacer (One side facing the Intake manifold, other side facing the intake / airbox). Does that answer your question?

Cool

I need to ask. If you already have the ThermoBlok Spacers would this be worth the cost. I mean using both mods together. Is there still some HP to be gained? I know the bolts would have to be changed. No big deal.

Just wonder what you people thought!

The Intake Mani gasket isn't out yet but if you have the Thermoblok IM gasket just keep it on. The P2R one won't make a noticeable difference in reference to the IM gasket if you already have the Thermoblock unit. However, I have had a few customers switch out their Thermoblok throttle body spacer for the P2R TB spacer and thermal gaskets and notice an improvement. They said it was worth it.

So yes it will be an improvement over the TB spacer; I just don't know how much.

For what it's worth I just blocked off the hot water supply to the TB and it made a huge difference in TB temp. It's cool to the touch when the engine is running but will obviously heatsoak when the motor is off and the car sits. There's a pretty big difference between the TB temp and intake manifold temp so the stock gasket is doing some insulating.
