sure! you'll get some rasp but you'll pick up a hp or 2 and it'll be louder.

Anybody planning on installing these on a car with stock exhaust ? I'm sure it will still pick up some horsepower but I'm kind of curious as to how the exhaust note will change. I'm hoping it'll sound kinda beefy on my TLS

We'll find out when mine get here!

if you install the precat deletes... you will want to retain that resonator to absorb the rasp... your exhaust tone will go from "still sounds the same" to deep and a gurgle when you let off the gas... the rasp in the white tl in my video is bad... yes? but the fact is it was freshly off the lift, so maybe it will quiet down maybe...

DYNO SCHEDULE
Monday... My car currently has almost all the same mods as TheWanderer316 (except for the precat deletes), we are going to dyno both cars back to back, the HP difference among the 2 will show a close estimate as to what the precat delete gain... going from Procat To Precat Delete.... CANT WAIT

Anyone in NY or NJ with a 3rd gen type s with atlp jpipe and any catback wanna tag along?

dude, put the stocks on and come thru... meeting up with racinghart03 and thewanderer316... it will help us put to bed alot of the questions

BLACKURA_NY
Stock Cats + ATLP Jpipe + ATLP Catback
stillhere153
Procats + ATLP Jpipe + HKS Single Exit
TheWanderer316
R-V6 Cat Deletes + ATLP Jpipe + ATLP Race Pipe + XL8 Base Catback
RacingHart03
R-V6 Cat Deletes + R-V6 Jpipe + R-V6 Test Pipe + Comptech Catback
^ and then a dyno with the juice

it will be great if you came by because we could also get audio on pretty much a wide range of exhaust notes...

damn looking at that list of juggernauts... EAST COAST IS DOING IT REAL BIG

The 3rd procat is 2.25"... so procat primaries are probably 2.25" aswell... I will let you know what the diameter is when I pull mine out tuesday... or wednesday

I know in the middle it goes up to like 3.5 or 3.75 inches which is straight bottlekneck ftl

are you going custom... comptech or xlr8...?

if you get rasp you can always retain the 3rd cat... or get the 300 cell 2.5" third cat r-v6 is gonna have in a few days

the rasp comes from being straight through... I will let you know in a few days if you get rasp from no cats + resonator...

Just took a ride in RacingHart03's type s... He's sporting richie's full setup... Not raspy at all

Precat Deletes + Jpipe + Test Pipe.. It definitely has some low end kick

He went for a pull on juice... Not loud at all, mean and sexy but it didn't cabin drone or rasp at all...

Looks like craig needs to post a sound clip

Has anyone installed the R-V6 J-Pipe and R-V6 Precat Deletes with stock mufflers? Would there be any issues with this setup? Thanks for any input.

There would be some bottleknecking.. But it will still provide some pretty noticeable gains...

If you decide not to run a catback it would be more logical to run the jpipe with the precat delete and retain the stock 3rd cat

I ordered the whole setup from R-V6, pre-cat deletes, j-pipe and test pipe but am retaining the stock c-back for now.

I installed the pre cat deletes, j pipe and test pipe along with my Comptech exhaust on my 08 Tl-s and it sounds nice. Its not raspy at all. It almost sounds the same as it did with just the exhaust but its def a little nastier once you get on it. Power pick up is good. Had to rejet the nitrous cuz it was totally off after the install. Everything is back to where I want it and the car rips. On the bottle I have picked up some serious gains and even off the bottle the car has more power. Again, with no cats whatsoever and the Comptech cat back the car is not loud at all.

I was just looking on Greddys site to see if this is really gonna make a diff. Not sure yet. All it does it basically modify map which is the same thing an AFC does. I thought you would have more control over things like timing and individual injectors. Ill give them a call tomorrow and see what they think. Has anyone on Azine actually made MORE power with this unit?

there will be some pretty bad bottlenecking with the stock piping in the back.

could always just go custom fab with stock tips

so this thread has gotten so long that I really don't know which page to start reading on..

1) precat deletes will definitely fail the emissions right? or since they stick it into the OBDII sensors, we'll be okay?

2) what does a defouler do?

3) Richie when's the next batch coming in? or do you still have some in stock (PM me)

1. Nope defoulers/O2 sims will keep your CEL from coming on. But these are for off road use only. So you might now be able to pass state inspection.

2. They are O2 sims

3. Have about 2 sets left and 20 sets stilling in the factory in Taiwan. I might have them flown in if there is demand. But the shipping is killing me I might wait for ocean freight.

thanks for the info richie

so then as a follow up;

1) wth are most of you guys gonna do to pass emissions whom plan on leaving this on for street use? throwing a high flow test pipe isn't going to help pass emissions rather than just ease the mind

2) defoulers are also just for peace of mind, and trick the car into not throwing CELs then?

Exactly what in a straight pipe breaks in?

The only way the sound changes is if you have a leak and it gets plugged with carbon over time. Once in a while the stainless packing in a muffler can make the tone change slightly with some heat cycles but that's it.

I dunno dude... after metal heats up it gets quieter or something lol... thewanderer316's car was quieter yesterday than when it was first installed...

good point about the leak being clogged by carbon

Are you sure it's not that you're getting used to it? Just saying we tend to adapt to what sounds "normal". Not to bring up the other car again, but when I bought my TL, it was perfectly silent to me and the GN sounded normal. Over time I started hearing the TL's exhaust. I got the GN fired up for the first time in over a year and it sounds like a full race car with no mufflers and the TL is silent again.
