Performance Chips ???

I was curious to see if anyone has found a (HIGH QUALITY) chip for their TL. I know there are some bull shit ones on eBay, but I would never fu*ck with those. I have used Hypertech chips before with trucks, but have yet to find one for a TL. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks boys

No Dice. Best you can hope for is a Hondata re-map of the ECU, which cost $600 and I'm not even sure if they offer to just anyone, yet.

Bro, don't waste your money. Unless you are going with forced induction or major internal mods, a chip will never give you the gains that justify the expense.

The 3G TL ECU is not "programmable at this time" and therefore no chips exist (other than the Hondata ones for the S/C). <EOM>

Haltech?

I overheard someone talking about Haltech once. Australian company that focuses on replacement ecu's. Can be completely tuned by a laptop on the fly.

Would love to hear some feedback.

Thanks.

Please explain yourself? Have you ever heard of the company Haltech? Are you confident that their product can not be used for our cars? My source was a mechanic at an Acura dealer so I would definetly take his word over yours.

If anyone has any experience or heard of Haltech I would love for them to chime in. In fact, this product completely replaces the stock fuel managment system among other things.

Go figure that some people think they know everything. Listen and learn baby, you might not be the brightest star.

the haltech setup will require cutting into your harness
1 alternative to cutting the harness is available, contact boomslang.us to see if they have an engine harness extension so that you can be set to go

haltech's website looks a bit primitive, but I would go with the greddy ultimate since it has been tested if you want to tune the tl

ps. tunning a non f/i tl aint worth it, if you boosted then go for it

I don't know everything but I DO read the other threads related to engine management for the 3G version of the car (I guess your star may be a bit dimmer than mine on that aspect). Are you talking about an earlier model TL or the 3G version? If the earlier versions, then YEA, no problem BUT you are posting in the wrong forum. If your talking 3G then maybe it's YOU that needs to do a bit more research to see just what CAN be done with either Greddy and/or Haltech.

Just do yourself a favor and read more of the existing threads on engine management so that you can understand what I am writting about.

Stillhere's comments: Can you guys tune an Acura TL with Haltech.
Acura techs response: Sure....(Note he doesn't say anything about what year)
Stillhere (assuming incorrectly that the tech was referring to the current year model): COOL, Let me see what others have been able to do on these cars...(runs off and starts a thread related to Haltech but didn't bother to search to see what had previously been discussed on engine management for the 3G's).
Bunka: See's this as just another "how do you use 3rd-party products to manage a 3G engine" and therefore post a fairly caustic response (because he has seen SOO much of this already on this forum).

It was actually the mechanic who said "have you heard of haltech?" Just make sure you get the story straight. Honestly, you're quite the ass. I am posting my inquiry on the 3rd Gen TL forum as to make it clear what car we are talking about. What else say you?

Rather than replying here have you even TRIED reading the plethora of other threads on engine management for these 3G's?

Why not just get a dyno graph of the one he did? Pass the popcorn. Signed pompus
