password jdm intake

Hey guys, so I am in the market for an intake system but lives in Colorado and just not diggin' the CAI. Just the other day, I saw my friend do some fabricating and he fitted a Password JDM rsx intake system into his 2007 TSX. So that gave me the idea, and to me it looks like the Honda Fit intake system may be the best chances. What are your guys thoughts?

according to this picture, it looks like if we moved the fuse box and of course a battery relocate, it looks quite possible to me

Well this summer my plans were to get the long tube jpipe with hopefully a new set of quad tips so i figured im gonna need an intake

I would think relocating the battery and fuse box and fitting a Honda Fit intake into the engine bay is too much of a hassel for an intake.

Why don't you want a cai?

Everyone over here tells me bad things about CAI. They say it may be able to suck in water and rocks etc?

^^^it might suck up some dead cats, and birds too...especially if ur about to get airborne, ya know, like a jet bird strike...
for gods sake... slap an injen or aem CAI on ur car and call it a day...dont put too much hard thinking into it...whatever decision you make, its still a good one, no matter what anyone else tells you.. dont go crazy into reconstructing the engine bay to fit one of those intake boxes in there. there's no good point in it... on that note...do a little search on the CAI topic..i guarantee you, we've beaten it to death as if it had 20 lives, over and over and over.

and the thing in the picture, looks (is) like a short ram..all the work, and all the waste of the nice carbon fiber, just to have the filter still sit inside the engine bay. My opinion? a complete waste and some

UASICK, you've been incredibly misinformed.
I've driven with K&N CAI through all seasons and some.
The filter is preciously what the name suggests, it filters the rocks and "junk".
Although your can-do attitude is awesome, I wouldn't waste any of it on a CAI.

Just get the AEM v2 man...no fabrication or tearing apart your engine bay, just nice sound and a little kick in the ass when you punch it (I know, some of that kick is mental, but I feel it). Plus the filter doesn't sit that low, and you really have to get it wet (submerged to be exact) for there to be any problems. Isn't technically designed for the 3G TL, but it fits perfectly (03-06 accord model)

That intake would probably cause a reverse bottleneck as well. The throttle bodies on those cars are probably significantly smaller.

You'd probably have better luck with a CT Icebox from a 2G UA

A CAI will provide the same air filtration (provided you use the right filter). It won't be sucking in rocks or anything of the sort. It may however suck in water if you drive through deep water. If anything, get yourself a K&N short Ram Intake OR modify the stock airbox by removing the resonator.

that pw jdm intake is a total waste of cash... might aswell get some intercooler piping and put the filter where ever you want

If you are still nervous about the CAI heres something I did on my previous rsx. Purchase a prefilter (I think thats the name?) its an air permeable cover that goes on your filter.

They are crazy, you can put your hand in it and submerge it in water and your hand will not get wet. Yet, if you blow on it, you can feel the air hitting your hand.

not sure if it robs any power but it sure does give you peace of mind. had mine on and never thought twice about hydrolocking again.
